What a fabulous video, I’m so glad you were there to record it. The sound is superb (I’ll admit I have it blasting through headphones🤓) When you consider this is termed a practice for the rehearsals (1st and 8th June) of the main event (15th June) they already sound perfect! The video also captures the sound of the marching feet and that in itself is something wondrous! Then of course the pipes, don’t they just add that something extra special. I enjoyed all the marches played here and will single out that bit at 11:47 where the band revs up and puts the after burners on in “The King’s Guard”😍 Thank you for sharing👍
Well the BA is only a few thousand now most can't even march they really would be of little value n ireland proved that when they were laughed at daily😅😅😅😅
Great video! This years Troop will definitely be an interesting one to say the least! The marches played were, (Band of the Grenadier Guards) 1) 3:35-Rastlos Vorwärts (Relentless Advance) (Massed Bands of the Irish, Welsh, and Scots Guards) 2) 5:03-Blue Plume 3) 7:40-Rhythm of the Line 4) 10:39-The King's Guard 5) 12:54-Fare Ye Well Inniskilling 6) 13:29-Kelly the Boy From Killane 7) 14:05-The Minstrel Boy 8) 14:37-The Sash My Father Wore 9) 15:12-The Wearing of the Green 10) 15:33-Company Marches of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards
Hi Delvin, nice to catch up again! I’ve been absent a while but am gearing up to attend this in 2weeks time for the first time in my life! Did you notice the return of your favourite DM? Haven’t seen him in a good while but I saw a Drum Majors practice for the Trooping some weeks back where only 4were taking part & I figured he was going to be the one to fill the vacant spot😌 So now I can feel slightly smug🤭 Hope you are well, and thank you for the listing again😎
Hello again Delvin, just wondering if you've seen a video posted by a SANJB titled "The State Ceremonial Musicians of the Household Division-Rehearsal" ? They play this year's composition for Trooping the colour quick march, it's rather splendid🥰
@@AnnofWales21 Hellooooo Ann! So wonderful to see you back! Hope you're keeping well! Wishing you safe travels, and of course I hope you enjoy yourself! Yes, ASDM Fitzgerald has returned, he does spend a lot of time away! So it's always spiffing to see him lead the Bands! As always it's my pleasure to provide the marches! I'm doing great! Thanks for asking! Just preparing myself for more march listings haha! The new quick march is wonderful! I sadly can't reveal anything about it just just yet. Don't want to get in trouble!
Gad! the drill is real sloppy these days are we sure this is the guards and far too many fat bellies as well. i must be getting old it sure was not like this in my day, well maybe they are recruits just out of training. but then again the british army has gone to pot. but thanks top cat for a video about prevailing times. love to all.
Hi from Australia. 👋👋 🇦🇺 So enjoyed this video. Love to hear the bands play. Feel like I’m back in the Marching Girls all over again. Most times we did march to the bagpipes though. Loved it 🇦🇺🦘🐨❤️💐 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's easy to forget these guys are highly skilled Infantry soldiers and may have just come back from some war torn country. They will then be expected to immediately switch to their ceremonial duties and their drill has to be impeccable. Only the British can do pomp & ceremony like this. So proud to be British. Long live the King.
Yeah, just doesn’t look right, but give it a few years, just watched one with the RAF Band, females with pony tails flying in the wind, good to see that hasn’t crept in to the guards bands yet, but the RAF have let their guys have beards for sometime, so watch & shoot!
A lot of fat bloaters amongst them too. Beards can be shaved and tattoos covered when in full HSC, but a fat bloke is still a fat bloke. Time the CQMS was cutting rations.😁💂♂
Very obviously practice rehearsal for Annual Trooping of the Colour, great marching music! Commands not like the old drill Sargeants, which were almost a scream!!
This was obviously a special occasion - and all those seats waiting to be filled at the end - so what was the occasion ? I'm a Brit watching from the US - lost track of what happens when in the calendar ! You tend to forget how many of them there are in these brigades as we tend to see them only when they are doing guard duty !
Hi It was a rehersal session for The Trooping of The Colour which is on the 15th of June . They will be in full dress uniform on that day and will be joined by The Household Cavalry .I might get lucky and see the cavalry rehersal too - nothing more stirring than seeing the Household calvary ride down The Mall in full dress uniform 👍
So proud of them all
Likewise 👍
paramilitary force now.😅😅😅😅
@@thecurlew7403 you are very disrespectful to kings troops
@@arlenechambers2419 Well it's a shambles really like UK.no health service wick roads no work and full of all races terrible to live there.😮💨😒

Fantastic sight and sounds! ❤
Glad your enjoyed it .
The sound of the band marching among the brick building and under the cover of the trees. Really gives you a great effect.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes they do sound great .The pipes are my favourite hence the reason I ran to catch up when they started up 😁
A few chunky chaps in that one guard, possibly HQ company!!

Shame the British don't play proper football, half the American team looks like that and they knock fit guys on their assumptions.
Shame America don’t play proper Rugby 👍
Thank you. I really enjoyed that and being there in spirit if not in person.
Glad you enjoyed watching yes I appreciate how lucky I am that I get to see them in person regularly 😁

Clearly, standards have dropped from where they were 15+ years ago. There is no excuse for obesity in the Brigade of Guards.
In fairness they may be medically downgraded for some reason.
Champion video. Wish they would play some traditional old marches of the vanished regiments as a tribute.
Sorry but some just look four feet tall, thank goodness it’s just the band.
It looks like they are going on a Sunday walk ..very poor
Thanks for this video. I never tire of watching our military marching, just perfect.
Yes very true I never tire of it either .
Absolutely right
Weres me belly can't march ill dream a dream and end up in 1980 trooping flip 2024.😅😅😅😅😅

Yes good point its something not everybody is aware of .
Brilliant display but just to many beards for my liking

I agree it should be stopped it’s not a good look. Neither are the ghastly tattoos.

Great display and brilliant to hear the irish lads with the skirl of the pipes !
Some of the tunes were Kelly of.Killann.The.wearing of the green The Sash The Holy Ground

Slimming world/ Weight watchers should pay a visit to the barracks. No BFT anymore then chaps?
Of course BFTs still occur.
Wonderful video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it thanks
It brings tear to the eye. Top stuff.
Didn't know you could be fat in the Guards

canadian here love watching
Where are the Scots Guards' pipers?
Well the Officers still look the way they are supposed to look at least.
Seen sharper, and do not think beards look right .Sorry.
It's literally a practice for the rehearsals. Give 'em time lol.
Get on boys, me and the country are proud of you.
A lovely video, thank you 😊
Perfect ❤
Practising for trooping the colour?
Kings guards? what's he done to need so many? 😆
Can someone explain how some of those on parade are clearly in pretty poor shape?
That is only a rehearsal, and it looked pretty smart to me
@bob7342 think they were referring to the shape of some them, too many pie's...
@@glenmiller272 Those are the Sergeants. Different rules apply to them apparently.
