- A short video tutorial on this frustrating thief core skill.
Recorded on PC, 1 day after launch, using a controller.
There are 2 ways to trigger the skill:
1. Walk against a wall, keep aiming at it, jump. You will hear a kicking sound and a short animation will play. During this animation, you MUST aim away from the wall and jump.
2. Run towards a wall and jump. An animation will play where your character's palms hit the wall. During this animation, you MUST aim away from the wall and jump.
Method 1 is fairly reliable on all kinds of walls, including slanted walls. Method 2 is unreliable everywhere, and especially on slanted surfaces. But it may give an extra bit of height.
You can chain this as long as you have stamina.

I've been trying to get this to work for a while now, and your video was quick and to the point. 10/10. I just wish they'd let us side jump instead of just behind.
Seriously not a huge difference in mechanic but it would make me remember to actually use the skill
You can change the direction a bit so you jump diagonall, not straight behind.
it feels like relearning super metroid wall jumps all over again.
There's an easy place in Vernworth to practice too. Right near the town center. Just outside an archway, there are two walls that you can jump up, and get onto a roof. Also, be careful of this core skill. I've accidentally jumped off a wall to my death at least twice. Lol.

Once you are the top switch to mystic spear hand and do dragouns foin to get to the other side.

I swear i cant get it to work even by accident. Been trying to figure it out ever since I bought the passive. I just hope they have the double jump at some point from DD1 because I keep double jumping instinctively lol. I guess that bodes well for how similar the games feel.
Are you on M/KB? Because on M/KB this skill is an absolute nightmare to chain and by nightmare I mean next to impossible.
@@blaynegreiner9365 oh God, I can't even imagine. I finally got it to work on gampad but it's still far less useful than I thought it would be.
use the concussive step skill. it works like a double jump if you activate it after a jump. no flippy passive this time tho, but the skill works just fine

ive put both thief blades and a staff in my warfarer build just for free roam wall jumps and float

eh… just use concussive step. it can act as a double jump. great tool for getting around
Appreciate it bro. Trying to make the fastest character in this game only works if you know how to execute the moves correctly.

Fuck i wish it were this easy for M/KB players. If they let you just grab the wall and stay there it would be fine but that would make too much sense...fucking ports...
