- Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

Since olives are really popular in the mediterranean, you should name the babies after mediterranean foods! Like feta, pita, fig, clementine, apricot, peach, hazelnut, sesame, walnut, etc...

A charcuterie food theme is always fun! Brie, Fig, and Genoa are cute. I also thought of Fruit tree names like Fig, Apple, and Cherry would be adorable with Olive too.
I picked Peach, Brie, and Chèvre, for the buckling. But could be cheddar, Brie, and Stilton for the Boy.

For food names I like Fig for the brown eyed doeling, Sweet Pea for the blue eyed doeling, and Pimento for the buckling.
Olive is also a shade of green and think Chartreuse, Jade and Malachite would be cute!

you could do a colour name theme for Hazel's babies maybe. Indigo, Amber, Violet, Jade, Azure I think are some nice ones, Indigo and Amber being my favourites :). All the babies are beautiful and can't wait to see Olive's ones dried up and fluffy!

I like the idea of sticking with the dual meaning of Olive’s name (tree & food), so how about Cherry, Coco (short for Coconut) and Percy (short for Persimmon). Those are all foods that grow on trees ☺️

This new buck is so striking. I love all of the cute babies, there are no ugly babies, but the coloring on this one and on Hazel's mini-me are my favorites so far. The little one chilling out seems so zen.

Yay, glad Olive's delivery was mostly smooth and all kids are healthy! I'm so in love with Newt 😍 All the kids are precious, can't wait to watch them grow! For her baby boy I humbly submit Oreo (shameless!!) and her girls' Jujube and Ginger.

Hazel's mini-me daughter being a mama's girl is adorable!! I feel like she's gotta be named after her mom in some way - they're going to be almost indistinguishable by coloration when she's grown

When talking about Daphne and hazel I couldn't stop thinking about how cute it would be if Hazel's where themed after nuts like almond and cashew and if Daphne's where named after flowers
I found Mallomar a funny but good name, you could used Mars as a short form. Java (basically meaning coffee), Julienne (not a food but a cutting style), Graham,Ambrosia (meaning "food of the gods"), Brie, Clove and Madeleine (a pretty french cookie ) these are the names that I personally like :)

Olive did so great. I can't believe her kids are so big. Don't you have three bucklings; Newt, Daphne's buckling, and Olive's buckling. As for names I like the following; Sage, Rosemary, Basil, Parsley, and Pepper. Spice names can make good names for those little kids. Newt is getting stronger by the day and he is too cute.

Oreo is overused imo, but I like your other two names. If you wanted to be out-of-the-box, an alternative to Oreo might be Hydrox? Is that a cute name for a goat?
When I was apart of a goat project, we named all the goats after herbs and spices. There was Nutmeg, Wasabi, Chia, Saffron, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Pepper, and Asafetida! You could do a theme just for the babies like fruits, herbs, and spices.
Oh poor olive! 😂. They are so cute and I’m glad all of the other kids and mamas are doing good! Ready for the other to have their kids also!

For the girls: Maybe Kalamata and Olea (one being a type of olive and the other being part of the scientific name for the olive)
And for the buckling: maybe Castel (standing for Castelvetrano, the ubiquitous snacking olive 😁)

Ohhhh, you have some gorgeous baby goats this year! They're all sweet and adorable but little Miss Honey is stunning with how her back half is split into two colors. The side with the most white and the little Bambi spots is just gorgeous! And her little face! She's beautiful! I also love Hazel's mini-me. She is so pretty! That little band of black on her nose is the cutest. I have always loved Hazel's coloring. When you first got her, I was hoping you would keep her because I think she brings something very different to your goat herd with her coloring. Her other little doeling has a really cute pattern too with the patches, very unique! And this newest black and white little boy is definitely flashy! He's going to get all the girls! Daphne's doeling, the brown one with the dark moon spots is also a stunner! Ahhh, I love them all! Thank you for sharing these beautiful births and sweet little babies with us!
You mentioned you had two bucklings and ten doelings... but didn't Daphne and Tilly both have one boy each? Tilly's tiny Newt, Daphne's buckling, and then this newest one from Olive would make three, right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think it's amazing how many doelings you've gotten this year, however! Your little trick worked!
Your sweet little wooden barn looks so peaceful and cozy for the mamas-to-be to give birth in with the sunbeams shining in on the floor and walls. Some that I see just look cold and dreary with chain link or brick (not that there is anything wrong with that), but yours looks so warm and comfortable for them and just the right size to feel cozy and safe. I love the warm color of the wood and the fresh pine shavings just make it a nice little space for a mama to feel comfortable to give birth there, especially since you can take some slats out of the divider and be right next to her. I've never had babies, but honestly, I think I'd rather be in that kind of relaxed and natural environment than in a room with beeping machines, wires, needles, hospital smells and nothing even close to nature nearby. I'm thankful we have modern medicine and facilities, but being in nature has always calmed my anxiety and made me feel better, so I know the goat mamas appreciate that too.
I think it's so interesting how the mamas know with even turning around that another mama's baby is too close. I guess it's a type of survival instinct to chase them off and keep all of their milk for their own babies. It's cute to see all the babies playing together though. They're precious.
I haven't seen your newest vlog with Tatem's babies, but my mom had to tell me all about how cute a little doeling was, so I'm going to watch that one next and get caught up. You definitely know what you're doing; these babies are showstoppers! And thank you for showing us the color combinations that you can expect to have with each pairing and why. I never realized the color patterns were down to such a science and not just random. It's fascinating! Have fun with all the babies! I'm excited to watch them grow and see which ones you might keep!

I havent seen anyone suggest names or themes for Daphne or Hazel. I think it would be really fun to name Daphne's kids after scooby-doo character (I know there aren't many but, we can get creative). And for Hazel her name reminds me of eye color I suppose. So, there are really cute color names, like violet or plum.
I was thinking this too! Velma and Fred for the girls (Fred can be short for Winifred, and it’s another musical theater reference to match the Matilda babies, A Girl Named Fred from Once Upon A Mattress!)
I looked up Daphne from Scooby Doo and they actually had a lot of her family on the show. Theres a ton of name ideas if you search Daphne Blake on Wikipedia. I almost told her the exact same idea too.

We had one of our Nigerian Dwarf does kid last week. A single buckling that weighed a whopping 6lb. 7oz. !!! He was born half grown!
Our other doe kidded the same night with triplets and her little runt was only 1lb. 15oz.

A Hazel theme is tough. The only famous "Hazel" I know is the one played by Shirley Booth on an old TV sitcom. The Baxters were her employers and there is a few cute nick names like, Missy, Sport and Smiley.
On the flip side, your Hazel reminds me of an impressionist's painting - so much movement, light and color. Maybe an artsy theme for her? There is a large choice of famous impressionist painters, paintings and subjects to choose from. Anyway, just ideas. Have fun with the new arrivals. It's a blast to watch them being born. 😀

Omg the buckling is SO ADORABLE! I have two dwarf goats, they are brothers and we do not breed them but I wish they looked like him, his markings are AMAZING! Please name the buckling moon and have a space theme! And I think a good theme for Hazel's kids could be flowers? Love the vids, keep up the good work

To be honest with you, the pine shaving is the better choice. I even use the pine shavings on my chickens and ducks. It just makes for better bedding, material for the animals and it cleans up a lot nicer.
