យើងចង់ជម្រាបជូនលោកអ្នកអំពីកសិករដាំម្ទេសដែលជាស្ត្រីម្នាក់ឈ្មោះ សុខន ដែលបានប្រកបរបរដាំម្ទេស និងបន្លែផ្សេងទៀតនៅពេញមួយជីវិតរបស់គាត់។ ប៉ុន្តែប្រាក់ចំណូលរបស់គាត់មិនគ្រប់គ្រាន់សម្រាប់ការចំណាយល់លើការសិក្សាររបស់កូនៗគាត់ឡើយ ហើយគាត់ត្រូវធ្លាក់ខ្លួនជំពាក់បំណុលគេ។ សុខនបានឃើញកសិករម្នាក់ទៀតនៅក្នុងភូមិ ដែលបានប្រើប្រាស់វិធីសាស្ត្រប្លែកក្នុងការដាំនិងបានទិន្នផលយ៉ាងច្រើន។ កសិករនេះបានចូលរួមវគ្គបណ្តុះបណ្តាលកសិករដែលទទួលបានការឧបត្ថម្ភដោយកម្មវិធីដ៏ធំជាងគេរបស់រដ្ឋាភិបាលអូស្ត្រាលី គឺ កម្មវិធីខ្សែសង្វាក់តម្លៃកសិកម្មកម្ពុជា (CAVAC)។ CAVAC ចាប់ដៃគូជាមួយក្រុមហ៊ុនកសិកម្មដើម្បីជួយចែកចាយចំណេះដឹងអំពីវិធីសាស្ត្រដាំ និងពូជថ្មីៗ។ ឥឡូវនេះម្ទេសរបស់សុខនផ្តល់ឲ្យគាត់នូវចំណូលជាច្រើនដែលជួយគាត់សងរួចបំណុលដែលគាត់បានជំពាក់កាលពេលមុនដើម្បីយកទៅផ្គត់ផ្គត់ការសិក្សារបស់កូនទាំងប្រាំពីររបស់គាត់។
We would like to introduce you to chilli farmer Madame Sokhorn, who has been growing chilli and other vegetables all her life. But the income generated wasn’t enough to cover the cost of her children’s higher education and she fell into debt. Sokhorn saw another farmer in her village using different techniques and getting much better yields. This farmer had attended a training program funded by the Australian Government’s largest program in Cambodia: the Cambodia Agricultural Value Chain (CAVAC). CAVAC partners with Agricultural companies to help share knowledge about new techniques and seed varieties. Now Sokhorn’s chillis earn enough for her to have repaid the debt that she took out in order for all seven of her children to have an education. Another example of #AustralianAid in action!
