I have spent the last 2 hours watching various vids on how to Kimura while standing, and none of them did as well as your video sir.
I especially like the arm drag with subtle elbow lift for the transition into full lock.
All the critics to this vid should see the nonsense the other guys teach.
This will definitely go into my Self defense playlist.
    God bless you officer.

thank you for the constructive criticism and god bless. ive used this effectively in real custody situations and it has been so effective that it makes suspects panic trying only to get their arm free. i truly love it.

At 4:47, be careful with the inside of your thigh. I use this technique at work and the bad thing is you may be bit like I was. Didn't hurt at all and actually didn't feel it until it was all said and done. Just an FYI and yes your technique is very effective and useful and great for transitioning into the prone handcuffing. Great video.

I’ve used this mostly when partner has control of the other arm. I apply the kimura to make it easier for my partner to cuff. If I’m by myself I would apply the kimura but instantly take him down in the process.

If you don't have a partner and want to remain standing, apply the kimura with the suspect against a wall or some other type of barrier. The suspect will not be able to spin and will still be locked up just the same as having a partner on the other arm. Then, you can easily transition to a hammer lock with one hand and apply the cuffs with the other. I've used this frequently as an 11 year veteran on the midnight shift in a major U.S. city. God bless and stay safe.

Hi, I like this technique, but I'm worried that the "uki" can resist by doing a "curl," or take me down by simply hugging me. any thoughts on how to prevent this? Thanks, Laurence.

If he curls, my system suggests that a user push the arm high along its natural path of resistance to an americana lock. The latter videos in the series cover this exact situation. Thanks for viewing.

I wish I would have learned bjj when I was a Leo. I believe that bjj is the best martial arts for Leo's, especially in this day and age.

I also teach a “tactical sweep” technique that i have employed for over 20 years in patrol operations. This technique aids in identifying latent weapon threats along the waist. It has served me well and has allowed me to identify many unknown threats on subjects i am arresting, before making a cuffing run.

He could have a grenade. Or possibly an rpg as well. There are counters to everything. This is but one technique to a very specific situation. Not an answer for every possible scenario

How about effective communication skills with the intent of diffusing the situation. Police enter into these situations looking to go jujitsu at the first sign of resistance and they make it worse. I hate cop culture it's so violent and negative.

I understand your perspective. police training these days does have an element of de escalation. They do all they can.
