    Vance H. Taylor was one of 7 American fighter pilots paired with 7 radiomen to go ashore at Omaha on the landing craft, fight their way up the beach, dig in, and call the coordinates of the camouflaged bunkers back to the oncoming pilots. I am proud that my Dad volunteered for this task. I salute all Allies who fought.

      @@Jen-fr4sd I appreciate your sentiment and understand the mistake that you made because I also thought for a minute that his grandfather may have been one of the ill-fated paratroopers that had been dropped behind enemy lines... but his profile location is Germany and I am sorry to say that I think his grandfather was watching from the wrong side of the battleline. :(

      The Canadian Encyclopedia states that the over 10,000 sailors and 14,000 soldiers of the 2nd Infantry were involved in taking Juno Beach on D-Day.

    What I don’t understand is, why didn’t they attacked in the night? It would be much smarter.

    • @hwork50
      @hwork50 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The paratroopers that were sent in at night were sent in to secure the bridges so that our men on the beaches could move swiftly and take control of the area.

      History books explain that the fog was so dense that no one could navigate or fly safely until the fog lifted early that morning.

      The plans had to be changed a number of times due to weather and sea problems... My recollection is that they were supposed to be landing before dawn days before but were forced to push the date back and still encountered bad seas that delayed them for hours... do we blame the fates or the furies...?

    Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
    DUET 6:4
    I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
    ISAIAH 43 1
    Repent, & be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, & ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    For the promise is unto you, & to your children, & to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God LORD shall call.
    ACTS 2 38
    And the King shall answer & say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
    MATTHEW 24:25
    And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
    REVELATION 20:10
