Bonzi, from Adam

I was scrolling through 4chan when I stumbled upon a thread titled 'From Adam'. At first, I thought it might be some kind of ARG, but then I saw an attached file named 'Bonzi.zip'. It claimed to be a virus-free version of Bonzi Buddy, a notorious spyware and adware program from the '90s and early 2000s. I was skeptical but curious, so I decided to download it and test it in a Windows XP virtual machine, just to be safe.
Once I extracted the file and ran the application, things started getting weird almost immediately. As soon as I opened it, the sound was distorted, like someone had fucked with the audio panning. Then it got even worse. Bonzi Buddy, instead of being its usual annoying self, started saying disturbing things and showing gruesome, gory images. I felt sick watching it. Suddenly, the screen went haywire, flashing random pixels and distorting everything. A mailbox appeared on the screen, and Bonzi opened it, pulling out a letter.
The letter reveals deep, festering resentment and trauma that has built up over years. The writer of the letter, presumably someone named Adam, is expressing their hatred and pain towards their own brother, Jason, who they feel has wronged them in pretty fucked up ways.
Before I knew it, the program had wiped out critical system files, completely bricking the virtual machine. The operating system was dead.
What really freaked me out, though, was that the glitchy, grainy distortion didn’t stop with the virtual machine. It somehow persisted into the BIOS, which shouldn’t have been possible. The only relief was that my actual PC wasn’t affected.
I went back to check the 4chan thread for any follow-up or explanation, but it was gone, like it had never existed.
I still have the file in my possession; however, I refuse to publish it due to the significant damage it caused to the VM. I don't want to be held responsible for any further damage.
