This system is very similar to what we had in Germany years ago from childhood and Im 74 now. Love it as no dust can collect on top of curtains and no rods to dust as well! There was also a piece to cover the track !

Our house in Australia has these tracks. It was built over 40 years ago by a Dutchman who had moved to Australia. I still have the curtains that were made in Holland at the same time.

    • @FuManchu5ltr

You first find the ceiling joists with a stud finder. Mark the joist locations, drill the holes with a small pilot hole bit. The screws go into those. The ceiling itself can not be load bearing.

Thank you so much for this video, the best one I've found explaining how to install the Vidga track system. We are also ordering white blackout velvet curtains from ChadMade. Wouldn't have found them without you. I am curious though as to why you went with a three-track system, but only installed a single layer of curtains. Am I missing something here? Would it be okay to go with the single track system?

    • @SarahWisted

    • @monomills9587

Anchor screws won’t work if the curtains are even the slightest bit heavy. You’ll need to find the joist.

    • @jonesyokc
      @jonesyokc ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@The52blocks I was thinking of that or use a toggle bolt. Anchors will pull out. They might be okay for hanging things on the all but I suspect they will pull out relatively easy when hanging from the ceiling where the force is pulling outward. I especially wouldn't use any gimmick screws in a kid's room. You need something much more durable. Something that can stand up to a kid pulling on the curtains. They will do that.

What is the distance from back wall to front of the window & trim, to know how far from the back wall to hang the track, so that curtains aren’t too close to the trim when closing the curtains? Visually from your video, looks like 4 inches but idk. Thanks!

Have you had any issues with the weight of the curtains on this track system? I need 108” long curtains, which would be about 11 lbs per panel, so 22 lbs of weight
I’m a bit concerned this track system can support it

Actually yes! I have the 1 track system in my office and you absolutely cannot hang heavy curtains on it or it droops. The 3 track is more sturdy and can hold more weight!

Hi! Do you have to have like steel on the ceiling to be able to attach the curtain?

Do we need to drill into studs at all or use anchor hooks when drilling into ceiling ?

We did not drill into studs or use an anchor hook 🖤

Does this curtain track hold the weight of velvet(velcro) curtains?? Do you know much much weight does this hold?

I don’t know how much weight it holds but I definitely would recommend the 3 track over the 1 track if you want heavier curtains. We have the 1 track in my baby boys room and the curtains are a bit too heavy for it.

Can I ask what curtains you got? And any idea how much weight they can hold? I’d love to have some blackout curtains in one slot and sheer curtains in another

The custom curtains you ordered off of Amazon where they the exact length you needed or did you have to hem them?
