What does a Japanese and British Captain, an Emarati First Officer,14 other nationalities and a Spanish avgeek have in common?!
Well, EK931 that is!
A warm welcome to the most diverse flight I can remember being on!
I was looking forward to this flight for many years. Emirates was the last one to join the club to Tel Aviv of the countries who signed the Abraham Accords.
Many new experiences are available to the Israeli and Palestinian clientele departing to/from Tel Aviv and I was eager to try them all out!
I’ve so far flown on all airlines and I can tell you that Emirates is top in it’s category in the Economy Class! Despite not being the newest B777-300ER in the fleet is still continues to have the best product on this route.

This is the most complete trip report channel I've seen so far, when it comes to the coverage of the technical details of the aircraft. I really appreciate reading all the information about the destinations of the planes on the ground, as well as all the interesting facts about the engines, wings, flaps, etc. you add to each of your videos.

Hey, Great report! But how do you know what aircraft and to which place they’re going to while taxing, as I’m very curious 😅
I can check their live movements on my flight radar app, and if not I’ll just search for the registration and date of the flight to find the destination/origin🙂

So there is this place in Dubai called “Miracle Garden”, it’s some impressive flower garden, and I saw some Jewish Ultra-Orthodox families walking around there and taking pictures and some local Emirati’s giving it a go to say hi in Hebrew to them and taking pictures together.
Just like that overnight as soon as the borders opened! Such a cool thing to experience.
The Arabs are always with Palestine and will not accept any agreement or normalization with the Israeli

Wait . . . so you got two meals? A vegetarian and then a kosher one? Love the details on other flights.
I asked for one of each. There was also a third option, but it was chicken with rice, nothing special. So I asked those that might be relevant and special for this specific flight.
And from what I think know now, it seems that no meat is served any longer to better serve other Jewish customers, so there is either fish, vegetarian and Kosher.

No, it was not. While I was on the inaugural one, it was full and busy so impossible to properly shoot. I didn’t have a good seat either.
The only difference with this flight was that we got a nice diploma as memoir!

I am sure, even though more powerful, the G90X would be more quiet start up since not all the passenger want a loud start. And talking about that, did you hear the news? Future fleet and airlines are planning 3-4-3 on the A350, expecially the -1000! If that configuration is already not good on the 777, I can't imagine the 350 who is more narrow. Anyways, Hope everything good and waiting for the other video!

Emirates invented the 3-4-3 on the B777 though… Just saying😁
But you over spoil the passenger and place the world best inflight entertainment on each seat (before only Virgin Atlantic and Emirates had IFE in Economy) and you’ll forget your seat became narrower!
I really hope the 3-4-3 stays at low cost carriers, but something tells me it will eventually, like the B777, become the standard. More seats = more money.

Yes, I agree with you.. Flying a plane in the US became like taking a bus. While it’s great for people as they’re able to go anywhere, I kind of find it sad that quality went down the drain.
In the Middle East you even get a meal on a 45 minute flight.. I hope it stays that way, time will tell!

12:53 I once flew on a United 767 which still had a cabin from the late 80s. Even that old plane had the ability to make phone calls for then 10$ per minute. Would like to know why most airlines do not offer that although most never used it
It used to be a thing before. Now you can just make calls inflight from your own phone so it became obsolete..
And it’s cheaper to make calls with your own phone.

I also went to Israel last month for the Eid break and flew Emirates as well...same feeling and very delighted with the flight experience. My favorite Israeli movie was "Walk on Water" by Eytan Fox and my favorite drink onboard is Bloody mary.

Last time fly on a 777-300 was whit Kenya Airways thats is many years ago,was3-3-3 in eco and 2-3-2 in business.Good job
oh yes i flew on a KQ 777-300ER to AMS from Nairobi! Sad that KQ no longer have those big planes all are with turkish airlines now. Biggest plane in KQ's fleet is the uncomfy 787-8 which seats are so narrower.
Ah yes, the good old days.. Sadly it didn’t really work out for them.
The potential was there, like with Ethiopian Airlines, but the model didn’t work.
Hope they get B777’s again soon!

wow.....must be the first time any Arab airline has broadcast the safety briefings in _Hebrew_
And how come there are two captains on the B777-300ER for this flight? It is not a 17-hour long haul route to begin with, isn't it???? So how does it work, do you know???? Is one of the captain a chief check training instructor pilot getting out of his classroom to mentor the younger inexperienced captains on the flight?
And also another question, are there a lot of Emirati locals who are pilots for Emirates Airlines or the majority are hailed from expat countries, especially European and US to begin with?

So you gave a good answer yourself! It might be a training flight, or a regular line check, or maybe someone is new, or returning to work. It could be anything!
But nobody is inexperienced as it was Captains and First Officers. The newest ones start are cadettes, second officers and then they keep upgrading.
Yes there are many many Emirati pilots at Emirates, I have a few friends that are flying there. Men and women. Most of the time there is one operating.
The expats are from anywhere, not only Europe and US but also Latin America, Asia, Africa and Australia. There are so many in my community. Last week I had a chat with a Malaysian one!

@@TheLayoverAviation Damn..... There are many local Emirati pilots at their home base??? I thought the population density of Dubai would be smaller than London or LAX = so not a lot of folks in this line of work. Since it is cosmopolitan airline to begin serving internationally, not locally to begin with, so it would make more sense to have expats. Plus, the pilot training is not on par comparing to the Europeans, Australians, New Zealanders and the US to begin with.

As a Jew with family in Israel, it is great to see an Arab and Jewish country coming together. I wish all the Israeli hostages are returned so this war can stop, and Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace in a possible 2 state solution.

Question about global affairs: Does the Arab country such as UAE and Qatar usually have tense relationships with Israel for many years? Seems it has been going on for more than 40 years. I think. And since when did they decide to end this political conundrum and cold war and fly to Tel Aviv? What took them so long till now!?!?!? Anyone chime in, thanks!!!!
Very long subject.. Qatar still didn’t normalize relationships though.
I think they realized they have much more in common and to benefit from each other rather then pretending one doesn’t exist.
It was a big shock for me too but I am very happy that is part of the past.
