I did it using FreeNAS Advantages using ur own is memorry, and raid config. mine cones with 16gb 8 tb x 2 on Raid 1. single Lan , dont go with 2 lan unless your consuming device support 2 lan.

If you want to host a website, just sign up for Azure or Aws. You will only get charged by number of people who access your site.
Ill tell you a better option. instead of 3.5k for 1TB, just buy USB pendrives. nobody will buy a NAS for using 1TB. But this technology is not for some economics professor. Its for people who are interested in technology and need to store large TBs of storage at offsite.
