6 years ago, my nephew was born and I was excited about meeting him. I asked my older brother if I could be his Godfather but he said no. My hope is that if my nephew is baptized in the Catholic faith, maybe it's possible. I maybe not be his Godfather now but I can be a shining example for him in Catholic Christianity. He and his dad are on my rosary prayer list. My nephew's name is Jonas. If anyone wants to pray for him and his dad, go ahead.
You don't ask to become a GODFATHER. Parents have to choose you. This is a good time to start thinking why they rejected you. I'll tell you why, I don't know you and I don't want to hurt your "feelings" perhaps you don't have enough wisdom/credentials to guide there child throughout the life if needed.
It's a privilege to have such things. Some people have no family.

I just got asked to be a godmother of a baby boy who isn’t born yet!! I’m doing all I can to see what it means for others to be a god parent!
