Wow cool to see in action knocking out those chicken legs. It’s a good price too. Thanks for the review.

Great video, I’m new to raw feeding for my Boxer & 2 French Bulldogs. I just ordered this grinder as soon as I saw you grind the chicken legs! Thanks so much.

Thank You Mollie. I'm new myself. I was at my buddies gun shop when I heard this guy, who was a friend of theirs was talking. He was talking about his girlfriend's dog being diagnosed with cancer and only given 3 months to live. She looked into a raw diet and her dog lived another 4 or 5 years after being switched to a raw diet.

I bought this grinder on FB Marketplace (for $80!!) from a woman who had used it to grind meat for her dog. I have two cats and a very small freezer space so every two weeks I grind chicken thigh and wing bones. Before I knew leg bones were not to be used for cat food, I ground (nearly) whole drumsticks with no problem! Best investment if you're preparing a balanced raw diet for your pets. And this video convinced me that this purchase was a good one!!

    Yes Lisa,
I do still use it but not as often as I'd like due to time constraints. It takes time to grind all that chicken and then individually wrap it into serving sizes. But go for it, you'll love it.

Thank you so much for making this video. Grinders are so expensive and this is totally affordable. I hope it's still working for you. Because I'm about to drop some bennies!

I can’t believe how loud it is, wow. Awesome grinder other than that. 👍🏻

Great video. Really appreciate your down to earth attitude. Considering getting this or the 4000 for grinding cat food w/ bones.
BTW, if you're afraid of raw for that one dog, you can cook the chicken for 10m, just to kill surface bacteria, then grind away.

Does this model last long if used for grinding chicken bones on regular basis? ?

Thanks for the video, I have this grinder, bought it to grind chicken & bones for my cats. I was surprised to see you putting a whole chicken leg in without any problem. I've been using chicken thighs and found I needed to cut them into smaller pieces with a meat cleaver to get them through the grinder without everything jamming up. I'm keeping it at the almost-frozen temp.when I grind it, so temperature isn't the issue. After it's gone through the grinder - twice - I'm still finding small sharp pieces of bone mixed in with the meat. Wondering if there's something I'm doing wrong - any suggestions will be most appreciated, thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. No, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. After I grind everything I hand mix it to incorporate all the ingredients I add and I do feel small pieces of bone but they're not sharp enough to cut through my latex gloves. Another thing is I'm feeding 70 & 90 pound dogs, they don't quite chew this ground meat mix, it's more like swallow. I'm lucky if it takes 3 seconds for Cody my 90lb Rescue Lab mix to eat his. Pongo my older Rescue Lab mix likes to savor his, he takes 5-10 seconds.

No, I have not. It is still grinding everything I put in it, which is mostly drumsticks and thighs with some breasts and all the fruits and vegetables I use to make my dogs food.

I won't lie to you. I really have not been consistently grinding. My dogs were doing fine on the raw chicken, crushing the bones which is fine for dogs. At least my dogs who are 60+ lbs. I've stopped giving Pongo raw because he had to go to the ER and when they gave him an ultrasound they found a tumor. They also saw undigested bones in his stomach and said that could make it dificult to pass, due to the growth being somewhere on his intestine. But I did notice his teeth getting yellow from not crushing the bones. However Cody still gets raw and Pongo gets cooked chicken and rice with carrots and spinach.

Are you cooking the ground up chicken with bones For poncho? I was curious how cooking this ground up chicken affected the food, if it made sharp bones shards or not.

I think I'll get this one to grind "another one"! Just what the doggies ordered!

Thanks for doing this review. I'm looking at this machine and was curious about chicken bones. I'm transitioning my dog over to raw, this should work out fine. Is it still holding up?

    • @frankmmiii
      @frankmmiii  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Toby Santangelo it works great. My dogs love the ground chicken. Every time I feed them they literally beg and stand there watching me or my wife unwrap it. The machine is awesome! It does bog down a little but never stops or jams.

frankmmiii - Great! I talked the guy at mercantile station 2, and he said this model is exactly what I'm looking for, and the less expensive ones jam the gears when you put soft bone in them. Glad I did my research and came across your video.
Thanks again for the details and update!
