Thank you Ben. Thumb's up! as always. Qst: When there's a "snail trail" on Morgan...1. Does that hurt the grade, if submitted to NGC/PCGS? 2. Do you blv, at least sometime, if you dip the coin to remove the toning, that the snail trail will go away too? Thanks again.
I feel like it’s much easier to figure out grades on morgan’s than other coins - at least for me, especially coins that are not silver. But believe me, I know that the grading can be subjective no matter who does it.
So is it a “downgrade” when a MS65 in a rattler comes back as MS65 in a modern NGC or PCGS holder? Since a lot of collectors assume the rattlers are often under graded, do they generally pay a higher price them in comparison to a modern slabbed coin with the same grade?
Thank you, Ben, “The Coin Geek !”🤓 You’re absolutely right, why should I worry when it’s not my money !!! 🤔 😲😳😬 🤣😂🤣 😉 ⚾️⚾️⚾️ ROGER, The LOS ANGELES DODGER
Great point about the segs coins. I sent my 81s ms66 Dmpl for crossover with a minimum of 65 Pl through you and it failed. Now that I look back I want to say it was a 65 w semi Pl surfaces. Now here’s the big question who’s worse Segs or ICG huh 🤔 I think they are equally as bad although it’s fascinating ICG has somehow held onto the title of one of the “big 4”. I argue that they have been disqualified and that there is only the big 3.
I believe Jeff Oxman grades dollars for SEGS. Also Larry Briggs who is the seated specialist grades for SEGS as well. I've had good luck with SEGS over the years. I disagree with the 2 grade differential. Buy the coin, not the holder.
NGC just needs to get rid of the star designation because they are incredibly inconsistent with giving it out and only angering their customers. And I think I'm one of the few who thinks the rattlers were accurate at best. They are far from an upgrade lock.
These crack out videos are the best and why I subscribed to premium.
Love that you do this. Glad you commented on “not your money”. 👌
My favorite videos!! Thank you Ben!!
Hi, Ben. We have rattlers here in NM. Diamondbacks!!!
Snail trail....I AM DONE LOL 🤣

Thank you. I was thinking about using SEGS. For some proof coins I have.
Thanks for the video!

Always love the education you share, Ben, and you need to copyright "snail trail". That was awesome.
Oh no! #SAVETHERATTLERS!
The 1877 cent could not be verified because it was altered at a key location on the reverse, where the 'N' in ONE is weak at the bottom.

I like the look of that 1877… I think you could feel confident selling it as genuine but corroded
Love the Morgan videos. The good, the bad and the ugly.
Keep ‘em coming.

I agree should have been star. You seem to have a lot of great morgans. Hope one day to pick one up from you.
Thanks Ben!
Ben send the 1877 to ANACS should grade details environmental damage. From PNG Dealer.
Ben, take that '77 Indian to Rick Snow (Eagle Eye) and ask his opinion at the next show.
I thought the first morgan looked better than the 2nd and deserved a designation. The 78s I guessed a 63pl.
How to send coin to NGC?
Try Anacs with the 1877 indian -- they are better with that kind of thing.
There's always ANACS for the 1877 Indian Cent.
Indian head looks liek metal detecting find, and maybe someone cleaned , no idea. I seen CAC is starting grading service on its own I believe
Snail trail? I’ve heard that term a lot, but never on a coin.
I think they screwed up on the 1878. It’s proof like. Or at least, as you said, deserved the star. It’s just nicer than a plain old 64.

I wouldn't say rattler are the majority accurate. I think they graded harder on certain coins.
