Have Hawaiian Black and just realized after many years it’s full of magnetic black rock. Using a magnet on a stick to get it out but it’s slow going in the 250. Should I just switch it out?
I prefer crashed coral, but a thin kind. Much easier to clean, when not too deep. P.S. I’m surprised you didn’t say anything about different chemical composition of the substrates you showed. They are not all inert.
I can’t stop getting detritus. This was pretty helpful.
We are glad to hear this video was helpful!

I used Arag-Alive in my 55g brackish tank.
Now I'm getting negative values across the board, with NH3, NO2 and NO3.
Does Arag-Alive fix the nitrates?
