- Is it safe to travel to Cabo San Lucas during the pandemic?
We’d like to share our travel experience to Cabo San Lucas. We didn’t come for the resorts. We came for an adventure, but more than that, we came to relax and do some soul-searching. We know it’s a tough time out there for everyone, so whatever you choose to do, be sure to proceed with precaution. It looks like COVID is going to be around for a long, long time. Wear your masks!

TRAVEL TIPS
Flying and bus transportation:
The video starts with a summary of our Southwest flying experience during the pandemic and tips for saving money on a transportation into Cabo San Lucas from the San Jose del Cabo International Airport. The bus accepts USD and Mexican Pesos.
Exchanging money:
Casa de Cambios de San Jorge
Locals tell us the best currency exchange rates in Mexico are at Casa de Cambios de San Jorge. There are multiple locations. No need to exchange at the airport. The US dollar is accepted widely in Cabo.
Where we stayed:
Casa Malka - hotel boutique
Located 3 blocks from downtown Cabo and one mile from the beach. We booked through Airbnb. You can also try Booking.com
Where we ate
Los Claros - recommend taco camarón crunch and smoked marlin taco
Pezcabo - recommend torre de mariscos and almejas preparadas (great for lunch)
Cafe de Ciudad - recommend chilaquiles omelet (breakfast)
Aleta - recommend the Hiroshima roll and a shot of Sotol (snake-infused liquor)
Lapa Lapa - recommend the sashimi plate (all you can eat sushi sundays)
Los Tres Gallos - recommend arrachera steak and chocolate taco (great for dinner, live music from 7-10pm)
Tacos Guss - recommend tacos al pastor and fish taco
El Zarape - recommend tacos al pastor (great option for late night tacos)

Great video!! I agree 100% with all you said about the covid precautions in Cabo. We had an amazing time and felt so comfortable! Didn't make it to the Sand Bar this time...didn't even make it to Medano beach, which seemed weird, but there's just so much to do in Cabo, we just didn't have time this go around. Your chocolate taco looked awesome. I saw that on the menu at Tres Gallos and was going to order it, but our waiter suggested this vanilla corn bread that was to die for!! So good! Thanks for sharing your video. I have a lot of footage from our trip still to edit and look forward to your La Paz adventures!
We missed out on that corn bread they also recommended it to us but we had gone to tres gallos for the chocolate taco. The chocolate taco was good but that corn bread sounded amazing. Next time for sure. Thank you for watching! We look forward to your next video too!

I’m so glad! We were pleasantly impressed by the precautions. Which airline are you flying? We’ve heard from other people’s experiences that not all airlines are taking as extensive as precautions as Southwest.

seems like a nice place, was on my map for traveling, just hard to say when I will get there :)). That prawn sushi sandwich & oysters look so yummy!
Cabos was way more than we expected, we thought it was just an over run touristy site but driving out to La Paz made our time way much better. The seafood was our highlight during that trip.
This is great, I’ll be in Cancun in December and considering another Beach city in Mexico next year.

Thanks! No requirements when we went. You’ll be asked to compete a COVID questionnaire upon arrival, wear a mask, and walk through a thermal screening at customs. Pretty simple! We were not asked to quarantine coming in nor coming back to the States. It should be smooth for you. Safe travels!

We seen that big snow this year but through news and It looks so good while sitting in 85 degree weather 😂. Take care friend! Hopefully the groundhog said winter will end soon. Lol

Great video. How was the beachside massage and how much was it? The chocolate taco looked amazing as well. We're there next week.
The beachside massage was good. It was 45$ for an hour. The chocolate taco was also good but the waiter recommended a cornbread dessert with ice cream. According to him and others it’s the best dessert they offer. We were too full to try it but next time for sure! Enjoy your time stay safe!

Just wondering what route did you guys take on the public bus and Is it near the airport?
Hi, there seemed to be only 1 route leaving from the airport. We asked the driver if they were going to Cabo San Lucas to confirm and we hopped on. The bus stop is not clearly indicated, so you may want to ask airport staff exactly where you should stand to wait for the bus. It was only a few steps out to the left upon exiting the airport in the upstairs level.

Yes, when you arrive to customs you’ll get a series of questions and multiple temperature checks.
What was the most convenient way to book the public bus to your hotel/resort? Would you recommend the public bus for first timers to Cabo? Looking at private shuttles for round trip to our resort but it astronomically expensive.
I think it depends how comfortable you feel with your Spanish. The public bus to San Lucas takes and picks up locals who work at hostels. A private shuttle sounds expensive. If you want something private we recommend a taxi at the airport. They give you fixed prices

I saw many people without masks at the Cabo airport and other places. Seemed crowded in most places you were at. No social distancing.
That’s unfortunate. We can’t control what others do but we can make our own choices. We entered restaurants that were open air and wore our masks most of the time, but Cabo seemed to only require business personnel to wear masks. For guests it seemed optional. Not that that’s the best policy, but I mention that to explain why some people were not wearing masks. And social distancing was the least enforced, so you make very valid points!

@@michaelwilson1332 Hi! It all comes down to what kind of experience you would like to have. Personally, I (Kevin), recommend that you stay in a nice hotel so you can get an experience that will get you to come back to Mexico. I personally would not get an all inclusive because you're locked in to eating and drinking what you paid for but that's just my opinion. I will send you some places I think are nice to stay at. Depending on your budget you can pick. Also, VERY IMPORTANT! There's two Cabos, San Lucas and San Jose, San Lucas has more nightlife and more activities while San Jose tends to be more relaxing and more resorts. They are about 30-40 minutes away from each other choosing one will change your experience.
