Zhao Wei is amazing!!!! I just watched Painted Skin 2... they're both very different. In part 2, they become more like best friends. But this proves Zhao Wei is such an amazing actress. She goes from this innocent beautiful elegant wife, to a crazy, tough, spectacular, gorgeous, yet suffering princess.
I love Zhou Xun, this song, and, the movie. She, Zhao Wei and Chen Kun, are so beautiful together, in The Painted Skin movies. I saw The Resurrection, before seeing this original, first movie. Watching her express the pain of loving someone so much, only makes me love her more. The most beautiful demon there is.
6:21 when she plays the demon, she looks so amazing at the end of the movie, when she smiles at him just before to die... that smile, those eye... she's out of this world!

I think it is her older age that deepens her voice. She did not sound as masculine when she was younger in Balzac and The Seamstress.
