The weather certainly wasn't good, Bob. I see Geraint has a video of the event. His is much better, nearer the line and not panning. It was my first year with a video camera and still learning what worked and what didn't! Keith
Your film certainly stirred memories from the past. I was on the first two trips and filmed 60007 in awful weather. These trips broke the BR end argo on steam over Shap and now after 28 years we have many fine engines and trains over Shap. Great moments and thank you
Evening Tony , just seen your comments about 07 on the trials in 95 so with 07 Northbound on Shap tomorrow it’s a historic event. Out of curiosity did 07 do the 30th September, 2nd and the 3rd of October 🤔
Excellent ,stuff there Keith . Along way from home !Memorable few days there I saw 71000 and 46229 ,. Some wonderful sounds from 46229 climbing Shap . First Duchess since September 1964 (46256) Pressure was actually down a fair bit and the Great Frank Santrian had her in full gear . Not one slip you notice . 71000 was impressive as well of course .
Superb coverage of this exciting event Keith, and in atrocious weather as well...Best wishes....Bob

Actually, pretty decent quality considering the poor weather. Bravo.
Thank you. Yes the weather was pretty awful.

Glad it brought back some good memories for you. It certainly is for me uploading these old videos.

Thank you - I was on both, and 60007! An amazing few days!
That must have been truly amazing to be on all three. I would much rather have been riding than filming.
I was at Scout Green for the duchess. I couldn’t get out of the car. I opened the window about an inch so I could at least hear it.
There were times I wondered why I got out of the car...........
That’s where the duke came a lot faster than Duchess of Hamilton on this section
Superb blast from the past Keith, looking forward to seeing the Duke again and I never had the chance to see Hamilton in the flesh sadly.

Not great quality but I thought worth posting. I'm also looking forward to seeing DoG again. I bet she won't be worked so hard again, though.
Thank you, Edmund. Yes it was a memorable few days and worth the journey, just a shame about the weather.
Nice video Keith :)
Cheers, Simon.
The Duke vs 4014 👁️👄👁️
Now 4014 is something I would like to see in action. If only......
