Nice perspective of riding an e-bike in city traffic. I preordered my Cowboy 4 last year, have made the final payment and am just waiting for delivery (a little delayed at the moment.) Can't wait to put it to the test in Los Angeles.
Sheeesh, cycling like that here in Belgium would get you honked at a loooooooot! But it looks super fun to cycle with it. Can’t wait for mine to be delivered shortly 🙌 can you make them hurry please 😅
Ma man! I was tensed up and white knuckled just watching you weave in and out of traffic! And here I was thinking that the motorcycle/scooter riders in Athens Greece were insane. 😯Your performance eclipsed the bike and all it's qualities. It was more intense than watching an action movie. You should be a stunt rider. 😂👍
@@neilferguson1601 Had it nearly 3 months now and no issues whatsoever, feels solid, looks like a dream. Id say its not the most comfortable bike, but neither is a Ferrari an comfortable car :) One HUGE advantage of the Cowboy is the carbon drive belt, cant be underestimated as a magnet for this bike, it rocks. The only thing Id hope for in an upgrade would be a 3-gear option so that higher speeds (30km+) and uphill torque can be mediated better. But as a commuter bike in London, it does everything it needs to.
@@neilferguson1601 No problem at all. Commuting is a breeze, and small hills no problem, any more than 10% and its not so effective. Ive jailbroken mine to get rid of the 25km speed limit, but havent messed with other setting like torque etc. which might help improve its performance on hills. This bike has zero squeeks and rattles because of the belt drive and intergrated parts, so that makes it feel really expensive and solid to ride, one of the things that differentiates it from other bikes I think.
How do you feel about the lack of suspension? Is it something you wish were different or is it something you've been used to for a while and don't mind not having?
Cowboy 4 owner from Germany (we have cobblestone roads) here, the lack of suspension is a complete non-issue for a street bike with this weight class and tires used. It’s a very comfy ride.
That was awesome, loved the riding and weaving... BUT, I'll be the "old man" and say it, beat the city traffic full force... But wear a helmet, being doored is one thing, but getting hit by SUVs not even looking as they leave parking lots is another (bent tire, and flew over handle bars, side of head to pavement, luckily walked off)... And yes, I'm aware there's biking pro's... Awesome point to point ride video though 🙌🏼
Try scooping up your knees when lifting front end up. Check out the how to bunny hop video I did on the FTL BMX TH-cam channel! I go over all of the important steps
Imagine there's an empty shoe box in front of you with no lid. How can you pick it up ? You could put your hands outside the box and lift it up like normal. The bunnyhop way is to put your hands inside the box , push outwards and lift the box. So your hands are not touching the outside. This is how you lift the front and rear of the bike for a bunnyhop ! You push forwards on the handlebars and push back on the pedals. Your bike is essentially the inside of the box . Practise lifting the front then the back. Slow down the TH-cam tutorial and visualise yourself bunny hopping ..you'll get it ! It took me two months of daily practise . Back in the 90s ! Hth
I love the bike and the way they design it but the problem you can not take it inside any store or building they will ask you to leave it out then someone will steal it , that is the main issue and if you buy a lock they can break it easy its 3k bike
It's capped at 25kph in Europe ; I think it isn't in the US, but beyond 25kph the cadence is a bit much, to be honest. Look at the guy's knees when he is full speed.
This 'tossing a coin' approach to biking through busy city traffic depends more on good faith than skill. I am saying this as someone from bike busy Amsterdam.
I’d have to disagree, if you check my videos that I’ve documented on this channel since 2015 you would see that this is not just “good faith.” The GoPro series I’ve done in many cities around the world is a great example.
@@BillyPerry I am not sure, I have absolute faith in your bike skills, but people are very unpredictable. Yesterday for instance, a woman with kid suddenly decided to run for the tram while I had right of way and green light. She didn't really looked out when suddenly crossing and I almost crashed in to her. How can you be sure a car doesn't suddenly decide to take a turn or a pedestrian doesn't emerge from behind a van? This is what I mean with the coin toss, it is not your bike skills that I doubt, it is the inability for other people to anticipate you coming with 20 mph. Here, this is a crossing close to my home, this street is insane, filled with tourists that come from countries without a bike culture, being completely oblivious on how fast I am actually approaching on my Van Moof S3 :) th-cam.com/video/pqQSwQLDIK8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=ThomasSchlijper
Looks fun, if you want a real pedal assist bike for getting places fast the Specialized Vado blows the cowboy out of the water. The cowboy only goes 15mph, the Vado goes 30mph.
Other electric bikes have ugly wires? You just said that you did not ride any other before, and for the record top ebikes don't have wires sticking out.
Great video thanks! Interesting to hear that you enjoy it so much, especially in the city. A question, what was the average speed of this ride!? Thanks!
other than being matt black not really. The Vanmoof has a front wheel hub motor the Cowboy has a rear hub motor. The Cowboy has a removable battery the Vanmoof doesn’t. The Vanmoof has gears and different levels of assist where as the Cowboy has no gears and the assistance is matched to the torque sensor i.e the more torque the greater the assist. The Cowboy has a sportier geometry The Vanmoof is more upright.
This man is the only guy in the world to make a regular bike video look like street bmx.
True but keep in mind that this Cowboy is no regular bike!
Dude! You've got some big balls cycling through that. How did you fit in those gaps
It was actually pretty easy to cut through since the bars aren’t as wide as my BMX bars

i’ve watched your videos for so long and for some reason i keep thinking you’re gonna eventually hit the cars when you get in between them lmaoo 😭😭.
Always on that grind whether its on a bmx or on an electric bike 💯

Great video! Would like to see this as a series, possibly trying out other ebikes
Will do! Thanks for the feedback

The timer on video isn’t actual pace, it was edited but the time it took that was displayed when I reached the destination was real
