1. Julian Assange is a journalist who hosted Wikileaks, an archive of information and leaks, he was prosecuted because he hosted damning information against the U.S government and they prosecuted him for it under the espionage act, he was freed recently after pleading guilty to one charge
2. To you in the future or anyone who tries to mimic you, don't use a Windows VM, they are not secure, use Tails OS (There are others, Tails OS used to be one of the best ones but there might be more secure VMs out there these days.)
3. You have to use a VM because you're recording but it's advised you run your OS off of a flash drive as VMs are still vulnerable, likely safe enough for this case but running it on a flash drive is way better.
4. VPNs don't protect you on Tor, in fact, I've heard they make you less secure, Tor will already anonymize your information and act sort of like a VPN.

Unfortunately, he makes other stupid mistakes in the video. He has the browser security level set to standard, which is pretty stupid. Exactly, he uses a Windows VM, which is completely unnecessary. I also recommend Whonix as an alternative to TailsOS. Why does he sometimes not censor the URL properly in the video? As a computer student, videos like this always make me cringe.
