Group therapy is really beneficial because people come to realise they aren't alone in their struggles and can then share helpful stories to encourage others

Group therapy was very helpful for me. I went for a little over a month. It was something about being around other people who feel the same things as I did. And everyone was so supportive of each other. The therapist shared different tips and games with us. I only stopped because as an empath, it can be hard hearing the hurt of others so often. I want to take everyone's pain away but I can't. So, I had to remind myself that I am there mostly for myself. So, when I felt that I got what I needed, I took a break. It's been 4 years and I still think about how profound it was for me. Even as a more reserved, private and quiet person, sometimes just listening was enough to make a difference. Or saying just one sentence aloud on how I feel today, made a difference too.

Beware what you try. I stayed against my better judgement for over a year in group analytic psychotherapy. My health declined, I felt suicidal and unable to think about anything besides the fear I felt about the therapist and their tactics. Crudely manipulative and judgemental. My autonomy degraded with repeated insistence that I would not accept the "care" of the group. A terrifying experience that will forever mean I cannot conceive of trusting someone who calls themselves a "psychotherapist." Be careful. People who think they know what's best for other people, are the most dangerous of all.

I went to Group therapy. My sister suggested that I got therapy so I did. I liked it. I want to go back. It helped me. The first couple of days I was quiet. Then I started opening up and as I started up I began to feel better and started to discover why I was the way was and starting to find myself. I can tell you people especially the therapist there to listen not to be negative or make you feel bad and tell you the truth.
