This is the first video I’ve watched of you and I subscribed immediately! Im an aspiring writer myself and a lot of the books I see you’ve talked about, The Dark Tower, Invincible, The First Law Trilogy, Mistborn, The Wheel of Time, are all books that I love as well. I’ve only read the first Invincible compendium and I’m caught up on the show and I’ve loved it. I really want to buy the second but I’m currently reading through the third compendium of The Walking Dead, which is ALSO written by Robert Kirkman. If you haven’t read it, you have to. It’s truly great and has affected me similarly to how Invincible has affected you. I also love Marvel and DC and my collection rn is around 200+ of volumes, comics, and a few bigger books like the ones I’ve mentioned, so I’d love to share some of my favorites with you as they have inspired me on my writing journey as well. I’ve also just finished my first short story, it’s called State of Decay and is about 8,500 words. I feel good about the length as it’s the first full length thing I’ve written, but I’ve already started a few other short story projects, comic book ideas, and script ideas that I try to work on as I have time. I also work 35+ hours a week waiting tables and do full time college as an English Major, so at the moment I’m just trying to maintain a consistent reading schedule and continue studying. I’m sorry for how long this has been, but i really resonated with your video because of how I’ve wanted to do something every similar to this for a long time because of how much passion I have for my writing and, what I consider studying, reading, and the library I now have that I can reference for my own writing. There’s a saying I like to remember sometimes, “Good artists borrow, great artists steal.” Which I think is true as we are the sum of all that we are made of, and we are made of what we consume, and I try and live consuming great art indiscriminate of medium, so books, music, movies, comic books, I try to take inspiration from to further my own work. I hope this wasn’t too long and at least had a good flow to it. Just know you’ve inspired me and that I’d love to be able to talk to you someday.
I found invincible around 6 years ago. Since then I have read all 3 compendiums twice, then upgraded to the 12 hardcover editions and read those again. This is a series I will forever re-read. The show is incredible as well, but like you said, it’ll be 10-12 years before we see it finished
@ omg i hope u do! I just started the second book. It has lots of The name of the wind vibes (a book i adore and saw u loved too) so i’m excited to hear your thoughts! Just found your channel and i love it
Both are amazing stories, but they’re completely different. Berserk is MUCH darker and is really character driven/focused. A lot of it deals with man’s search for meaning and purpose in a nihilistic, dark fantasy world. Invincible is a lot lighter. It can be goofier at times too. It has bigger moments with all its wars and battles. Invincible goes to some dark places, but not like Beserk. That’s on another level. They’re definitely both worth the read but for different reasons.

Ok, you sold me on this one. I'm getting Invincible sometime
You will not regret it! 🙌
The TV show Dark on Netflix did that for me. Great video!
I have been meaning to watch that. Thanks for reminding me, and I appreciate it!
Invincible is incredible! Thanks for the video, I might take it as a sign to reread the series to end out the year!
I think that’s a great plan. Hope you enjoy it!

One of the most reread-able series of all time.
I agree 100% invincible is soo good. Have you read the invincible universe compendium 1 it’s short but mainly about the lesser known character’s.
I have not, but I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the rec!
Watched 5 mins. Next thing I know is I'm placing a bid on ebay for the full set of compendiums😅
Hell yea. You’re going to love it!
Please do not change your background. It looks so perfect. I know, maybe I like liminal spaces it’s so clean. It’s literally perfect.
I really appreciate it! It won’t change for at least another year and half!
Have you read the assassin’s apprentice by Robin Hobb? I’d love to hear your thoughts about it!
I have not started it yet, but I plan on reading and reviewing it soon!

Awesome! I’m glad I have it sitting on my shelf then. I’ve only heard great things about it. Thanks, I really appreciate that!
Is berserk as good as invincible?
