I really like the "retraction" turn when things go to shit. Don't press down to initiate a turn, retract the landing gear and pivot. Works in ice too! Thanks for the vids!
How did you get so much mountaineering experience at such a young age? Slowly transitioning into this hobby and I’m trying to figure out how I can gradually work my way into it without getting in over my head. Doing lots of reading and getting “mentored”, but I’m afraid it’s not enough.
Good point, thanks for the tip. I picture it like the “wiggle” slalom racers do through the last few gates before the finish line 😊. Or summoning your inner Legolas.
Would be sick if you made a series of videos like this and turned it into a TH-cam playlist. A video about your full backcountry gear setup for the gnarly stuff you ski would be pretty helpful. I'm thinking of getting a touring ski for next season and getting into some backcountry, I wouldn't be able to do much until around three more years though.
My brother is a strong guy who raced for a few years in high school…he’s so hard on his edges is difficult to watch and he can’t figure out how to not get worked in the bu,mps and pow….I’m always tell8ng him to ski light…now he just bought another ski that needs power to turn he’ll never get it..

Your ski videos inspired me to ski most of the double blacks at Sugarloaf last Sunday. Thank you for sharing these tips.
Hell yeah! I’m glad you drew some inspiration from this and got after it! Sugarloaf is sick
Thanks for the tips, you’re an awesome skier. Always enjoy the content…keep ripping!
Thank you !
Awesome video, I know exactly what you're talking about but had never really put it to words or anything.
Nice!! Yeah most people have felt it, I’ve never seen it taught before

That could be a cool idea. Thanks for the suggestion
I love this. I always tell people don’t have old man legs. Don’t stomp, instead ski light.
Hell yeah! Glad you enjoyed

I actually think you did a decent job of describing it.
as for showing it on snow I am stumped as well, I do not think it will show though so easily.
Yeah it’s tricky to translate
Great video, I can totally relate!
Remember that rocks are just as afraid of you as you are of them.
Top comment lol
Remember that a lot of theses videos you watch are of guys who don’t buy their own skis.
