MANY players have said that about Boston. The interesting part is all the people crying foul are not denying that it's true. They're deflecting saying it's not everyone, but not one person has said it doesn't happen because it has been expressed from many different from players across different leagues throughout the years. Even musicians born and raised in Boston have exposed it.

As someone who is half puerto rican and dominican, I believe you. Most of the dominican players are black. I myself look the complete opposite of black but it saddens me that my people get treated this way. One time, I went to a bakery with my mom who is a darker skin dominican and I'm very white passing, and I remember hearing this old white lady telling her daughter "oh, she's probably just caring for her or an assistant". I grew up in Springfield Massachusetts where the game of basketball was invented. 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Boston. I've been to Celtics games and Red Sox games and some of the things I've heard drunken white fans say to black and hispanic players when I was growing up really was disgusting! If you ask some of the former players about there treatment at times in the area they will tell you about some of the overt, blatant, and suttle racist things that come out of the mouths of some fans. Not all but a lot more than it should. Ask Bill Russell, Dee Brown, and even Marcus Smart. Trust this city has a long racist history even to this day and even with its own athletes.

Enough players have said it that it must be a thing. However, this segment is pretty weak. Bringing up that Boston fans were swearing at Draymond does not add to the argument. Nor do shirts saying F*** Lebron. Saying you shouldn’t swear at players is a different story altogether from saying racism has no place in sports. Also, Celts fans had plenty of reasons to be pissed at Kyrie that had nothing to do with race. Now, if fans made their criticism of Kyrie racist, that’s obviously messed up. Players vs players have their own relationship, the fans do not have the right to interfere with the game in a negative way. I don’t care if you pay $10,000 for a seat to watch the game, you are to sit down, witness the sport and celebrate. If you’re upset, keep that to yourself, or leave the arena. Once you’ve behaved in a negative and interruptive manner effecting fellow ticket holders, you’ve lost your privileges as a guest. Have respect for your fellow guests of all ages as well as the athletes, by behaving in a respectful manner. Nobody paid to watch you, they are there for the players.
