Every time i listen to Nigerian folktales i get to learn more about their customs and tradition. i will keep the name of the village at heart in case i meet a brother from there 😅
I think I would have second thoughts about marrying someone that had such traditions especially if the person you married goes outside of the marriage how can you stay loyal to someone that is disloyal to you.
I can't marry a man from a village with such unfair traditions, cheating is not gud bt da results shud apply to both.... nevertheless,it was a very beautiful story from da best story teller.
Nonsense custom! No one should cheat. The consequences should be there for either man or woman. But hey, trust society to punish women and applaud men.
This is obtainable in Nsukka. I remember when my then guy's friend told me his wife was studying in my state, I jokingly said anambra men would snatch her from you, and he said she'll run mad if she cheated. And I said why? He said it was their culture. Then my then guy said he was going to tell me that. I was angry, and he asked me if I had plans of cheating, I said my anger was that the law was not applicable to both spouses. It's an evil law! The weird thing is that according to historians, it was their women who brought their law upon themselves. It's said that the white people came to their town and their men started accusing them of infidelity...and in a bid to show their innocence and calm their husbands suspicions, they brought that practice....I don't know if this is true...just saying what I heard. And it is also said that if the husband finds out that his wife cheated, or his wife tells him that she cheated, and he doesn't bring the case to the public, that's if he keeps the issue of infidelity private, that the husband will fall sick and he'll die. So for him not to die, he'll have to report his wife. Recently, it is said that for that tradition to be effective, there's a separate practice they do during their traditional marriage. It's when you carry out that practice that the madness will be effective if the wife cheats. I also heard it's no longer effective as it used to.
It's not only Nsukka oo Arochukwu also does this rubbish. I don't support cheating, but the punishment should apply to everyone, or no one at all. And no! I can't marry a man with this tradition, it's disrespectful and one-sided.
@@AfricanTalesByOmalicha They do. A man from there told me sha. But I don't think the girl will run mad, I think it's the man that'll fall sick or something if the cheating wife cooks for him.
This tradition is so, so unfair. I am not encouraging infidelity but why should a man go free when he cheats and the woman gets punished for cheating😢…., thank GOD he got served rightfully.
Dsame as delta State when a married woman sleep with another man she will feel sick or the children will sick and die 😢 on still the woman confused ( Urhobo traduction)
Well I don’t think is fair. But Azike was wrong unfortunately after that beating he didn’t make it. While wife did the wrong thing and regretted it. Thank you her friend she survived. ❤
I'm from that side, and many of our ladies are tired of that rubbish tradition already. And most of our men are really taking advantage of it because they know the women can't do same. If you are a married lady your unmarried siblings can not use your personal things. Can you imagine
I married in nsukka but i refuse to do with they tradition.i said to them that before i we do it that it will affect me and my husband, omo na so my husband did not talk about it again😂😂😂. because they only do it to the lady and they we be funicating anything under skirts living the woman to suffer

“Come and do Ooo come and do come and do something I’m available”😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's what they usually say when they run mad, so that way everyone knows what caused the madness
I really enjoyed the story
I think I would have second thoughts about marrying someone that had such traditions especially if the person you married goes outside of the marriage how can you stay loyal to someone that is disloyal to you.
Well, at the point of getting married, she did not expect to turn out the way it eventually did
The tradition is very unfair to women honestly that’s why most of the women don’t like their men

Yes it is
Wonderful story. Watching from the USA 🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it
Such tradition to me is already a red flag unless it affects both partys
It's not fair, it should be both parties chaiii that why they say first know the traditions before getting into in name of marriage 😊😊
Yes! It's good to always ask questions
Serves him right

As they say! It's a man's world
Poor Chisolm. She married Ezike's representative. She should have divorced him instead. He got his just dessert in the end.

I am from Enugu and this tradition is more reason I can't end up with an Nsukka man couple with the fact that there men can cheat for Africa
😂
Oh Wow! Why won't they cheat when they know nothing will happen to them
