These Desert Lakes Are Very Enticing To Me Being From the River Bottoms Of Mississippi ,The Scenery, The Terrain , Everything is Completely Different , except the Fish , The Colors Of The Channels in those rock beds seem a little different on Camera , I wanna make a Catfishing Road trip adventure and A Circle Out Thru this area has to be part of it , That 888 is the Cadillac of closed face Reels , Good Show ,keep it Reelin 🦈🎣
I use mono line so it's gonna stretch when I set the hook, and I cast a long way away from me. if it's a bigger fish I'll know as soon as I set the hook like that. lol
@@REELFishingArizona You Bring Back Some Awesome Memories Watchin You Fish Brother , Old School Hook Sets , Bank Fishin, Keepin It Reel And Simple , I've Caught More Catfish On those 888 and 808s , AND The old Classic Zebco 33 ,It was My Do it all Reel , It was On A Smaller Scale And The 808 was a big step up ,But Then I went All Way Up To the Cadillac Of Closed Face Reels The 888 Man In Spooled that ting wit some 30lb Stren And It was On lol 🤣 , I Thought I was The Big Dog Of Catfishing Then lol 🤣 , I caught several Really Good Cats , Lotsa Channels Blues And Flatheads Went on the Dinner Table , I Had A Good Place back then I could get Real Nightcrawlers , I Had Catapa worm Trees , And Didn't Know Nuttin Bout A Circle Hook , It was Long Shank Live bait worm hooks bout a #5/0 sharpen wit a oilstone to needle sharp , I been at this game for about 50 years Now ,Im 57 Started Fishin 🎣 by myself about 7 years old walking to the creek , digging worms out the ditch drains , And Those Hooksets Were Awesomeness Thanks For Keeping It Reelin , Tight Lines To Ya Brother 🦈🎣 ,
If a circle hook was used, don't need to really set the hook on them. If you use live bait like skipjack herring, gizzard shad, or bluegill, you'll just need to set your drag loose enough to let the catfish take the bait. Once that is achieved and the rod tip starts bending, then you will just need to reel it in while tightening the drag if necessary. The design of the circle hook will set in the corner of the catfish's mouth and will hook in it without the need of setting the hook, if you know what I mean.

No there is a section of the lake that is called the flats it just like what you saw in the video it’s where you can park your truck right there next to the water

Is it the spincast reel or the conventional reel? I heard the spincast reel is just another version of the 808, but I could be wrong.
I was just there Thursday. We caught a total of 9. Some of liver ,other off yr bait u use. We shld link up and fish together

What do you use for bait?
He uses Danny kings punch bait a lot I started using it too after watching him can say it does work
He uses Danny King's Punch Bait and Stryker Bait.
