I bought the lefty version of this guitar, and am very pumped over it. Good action out of the box, classic design with a bit of an edge (reverse headstock), and the gretschy pickups give the tele attitude with some added beef. This is a $200 dream guitar for a lefty! This gives the chimey grit you hear from Joe Walsh when he uses a telecaster. Great stuff!!
I have exactly the same guitar and love it. Gigged with as well. I've payed 165 EUR for it incl. shipping and it was almost perfect out of the box, which I never had with brand new US guitars.
I was looking at the blast version of this guitar in orange. Think you changed my mind. The crazy colors are soon to be in stock. This guitar is, in stock.
With mine I like the sound of the neck pup with tube dirt, but turn the tone right down. It sounds like no other. Try it. There's a guy on ebay who does pickguards for these in virtually any colour.
@@BigRalphN I just looked for a link, but he isn't selling anything for the moment, I guess because of you know what. The sellers ID is earlpilanz. Based in the UK. Best you can do is look him up and save him as a seller and hope this bs ends sometime!
Nice review I am looking at getting one. For stiff tuners loosen up the screw holding the button on. For the raised saddles screw shim the neck then have to raise the saddle and the ends go away
Philadelphia luthier supply sells the thick magnets, longer pole screws and nickel steel backplates that get these Roswells much closer to actual filtertrons
This guitar has a nice unique tone and feel IMO. I get a plunky attack and a nice full range tone from these PUP's. It has a growling aspect to it. With a little nasal thrown in. Smooth medium to thinner neck. The finish is great and the wood is very beautiful. Average bridge, and OK tuners, most likely the weakness however. It has great action, great intonation, and stays in tune. If you can play open D, A, and C and it is all in tune, it is a good guitar. I pick this one up a lot. Nice review and demo.
Sean - thanks for the review; very informative. Just a couple quick notes - they've updated the color of this guitar since Ryan ordered his. It now has a white tint vs. the blond ash. The bridge has also been updated to have a full-rounded border around the rear and sides. You can check out the pictures of the current model on the Thomann USA web site. I have both this model and 2 Fusions and I think the feel of this neck is actually quite close to the Fusion. Additionally they've recently launched the T-style Fusion so you can have the best of both worlds.
Every "problem" you've pointed out on that Tele copy is easily solved. The knobs you just buy yourself a couple of real dome metal knobs and substitute them and they'll be super smooth. Adjust the action and the saddle screw won't poke your hand etc....
Easily fixable or not the point of a review is to tell the viewer what they will encounter when then go to spend their hard earned money. I didn’t say they were deal breakers. Just minor. It’s still a fun guitar that sounds and plays great for the price. It just needs some tweaks. So, buyer be advised.
I've had the Sunburst TE90FLT for a few months now, it has turned into my everyday practice guitar BUT: Tuners were replaced with AxesRus 'Modern' lockers and a Gotoh GTC102 Hardtail bridge - total cost around £230 to buy and mod. With it's chambered Ash body, Maple neck, its comfortable, doesn't weight a ton, stays in tune.... What else could you ask for?
The Humbuckers are cool roswell cheap but awesome sounding especially on the Ashbody with the whole under the Pickguard ,the tuners do what they shoult do but on other HB modells they use Grover-but the Guitar is ok for the price ya can buy one and think there are no Problems for more exspensive modells my advice go in a music store and look what ya buy i never wouldt buy a les paul from G in usa when i don´t heldt it in my Hand and see what ive to pay for .
The timers on this guitar are my only realty gripe. REALLY stiff they were. Pickups were cool! Wouldn’t change those. Lots of guitar for the money from HB
Yeah Sean, I have a couple guitars with sharp points, either it's saddles or the screws, but that's what kind of details seem to get left behind these days unless it's premium set up. Raspberries...
i don't know. i just looked up the specs on the Thomann website and don't remember if the magnet type was mentioned. they sound good so i don't really care what the magnet type is
Not without some routing, no...which kinda defeats dogear P90s dogears mount direct to the body, i don't think there's be enough string clearance on this
Blue Eyed Soul Man I see how it could be a good option but a think most HBs try to “clone” certain guitars as closely as possible and the OG Cabronita didn’t have a middle pickup

it's a damn good guitar for sure
Awesome demo of the guitar sean !! I know i've thought of one for awhile myself !!

Thanks for the excellent review!

Do you have a pickguard link?

Cool video and demo of a pretty pretty cool HB!! Rock on bro!

the intonation sounds pretty damn good

Thanks my friend! Yeah the tuners and bridge are the weak links here for me but it does play well AND stays in tune.
Great demo. I just bought the black blast.
A nice Hipshot bridge and a eat of tasty Grover tuners, and all done!🤙
suddenly i miss this guitar, lol. I love the sound of those pickups, i might buy another just to gut it.
yeah, the pickups are real winners for sure! love the little bit of squish on cleans but the take dirt quite nicely
60 Cycle Hum to be honest man you with that guitar was a truly amazing combination! I’d love to see more of you two:)

Hey Aaron,
Thanks for the info! I did see the Fusion Ts...looks promising. But I currently have eyes for the headless models....
I've made no mods to that guitar.
I'm getting this guitar
Great playing on a great guitar!
Thanks a lot Benjamin! Please consider Subscribing so you don't miss new videos

what's green, hangs on a wall, and whistles?
Hey hey hey... Sound good Sean
Thanks for the great content.
Thanks for watching ! ✌️❤️🤘

Damien nice! Yeah the tuners would be the first mod I would make
great review!
I like this video. And this seems a great guitar.
Thanks a bunch John! It’s A LOT of guitar for your money.
I had a mexican Cabronita a few years ago, great guitar but I sold it just because I wanted some cash.Think I'll buy this one in a couple of days

Great review. Have you tried removing the pickguard yet? There's a surprise underneath...
i did not. i borrowed the guitar from Ryan @ 60 Cycle Hum so it wasn't something I had leave to mess with 100%
What's the surprise??
Telle style. If it's good enough for Jon5 it's good enough for me.🤙
Awesomeness 👍
I think you meant FIRST lol
Hi, are the pickups alnico 2 or alnico 5?
Because I saw that Roswell does both, with the same product code I read in the guitar specsp
i don't know. i just looked up the specs on the Thomann website and don't remember if the magnet type was mentioned.
they sound good so i don't really care what the magnet type is
Is it possible to change out the PUPs for more traditional ones, or are the routes too large?
The Roswells are same size as other Filtertrons.
Hi Sean.
Do you think that a dogear P90 work as a bridge pickup?
Not without some routing, no...which kinda defeats dogear P90s
dogears mount direct to the body, i don't think there's be enough string clearance on this
What about the weight of it?
no idea. I borrowed it so I don't have it at the moment.
Shame they didn't add a middle pickup option.
Blue Eyed Soul Man I see how it could be a good option but a think most HBs try to “clone” certain guitars as closely as possible and the OG Cabronita didn’t have a middle pickup
oh? good?!
Just subbed why d'I do dat?
Because you can sense the effort I go to in order to make a quality review video. And I appreciate you for it.
Ant Man?
where?
Hey hey hey... Sound good Sean
