I have observed a growing trend where large screens are increasingly utilized throughout these attractions. While I understand the appeal of modern technology, I am concerned that the frequent reliance on screens may detract from the use of more traditional and tangible effects, such as animatronics and practical effects. When we developed the Mummy ride at Universal many years ago our goal was to make the experience as realistic as possible. Hence, we utilized animatronics. Incorporating physical elements often provides a more engaging and authentic experience for riders. It's what keeps the riders coming back for more.
I went on the Secret Life of Pets ride at Hollywood shortly after it opened. I made sure to give my feedback afterwards. I LOVED IT! I know, it's a weenie ride meant for younger kids. But the theming in the line, the animatronics and use of practical effects, the sparse use of screens were all very well done. I made sure to note that I hoped to see more rides like that in the future. Though I think the Harry Potter ride is the gold standard for how to blend screens with practical effects. Lots of love for The Mummy, too.
when you say "when we" do you mean you were part of the team? You did a great job and its still one of their best rides and Universal seems to have listened to you. In all their promos of the Epic Universe they mention animatronics. They have hyped up the wolf-man one that is coming.
@@zydration3538The newer Kong Ride and Fast and Furious have either been compared to the original and been criticized, or deemed the worst ride in the parks history. Escape from Gringotts is screen heavy, for sure. Forbidden Journey is fine though. You actually move during the ride, there’s live action sections like the spiders, a dragon, the whomping willow and the dementors, so that one makes no sense to bring up.
It feels like the ride keeps rushing past all the cool physical sets, just to get to the next big screen. But I appreciated how well the 3d screens matched the parallax of the car's movement. Also, LOL at them not bothering to get a white wig for the villain character. So he's just got the gray afro with the straight white beard. :)
The story plot of this ride: Tourists are the new students of this Wizard Academy, and those monsters( stone giants, trolls, dragons...) and the challenge of the headmaster himself are a part of the entry exam of the academy (such a crazy exam). Finally all the students passed the exam, at 8:18.
Thank you, my dude. Watching this with zero context was like watching unconnected clips from a trilogy of movies. The villain seemingly disappears halfway through, there’s an army of demons, and then suddenly a giant octopus shows up.
Um has anyone heard the music at after you go through the door at 0:44. You can hear the music from Disney dinosaur. The music is when aladar was being chased by velociraptors.
From my perspective, it is more like a knock-off of Curse of DarKastle (already closed) in Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Similarities including: Talking skeleton head that seems rushed out of the screen and then disappeared into the blue green particle effect 6:48 2:01 Monster that breaks the door and defeat another kind of monster (in Curse of DarKastle is the ghost and the werewolf, as in this ride is the troll and the crocodile) The ending also looks like the fire gate scene in Curse of DarKastle, and the scene in 7:35 (some sort of ghostly creature takes you through the castle) also has a similar scene at the ending part of the Curse of DarKastle.
Actually, these parks are built before Universal and Disney built their parks in China, and some tourists in China are constantly complaining about how short the Disney/Universal rides are. Also, the ticket price of Fantawild is cheaper than Disney and Universal, thus lots of comments on Chinese social media platforms said that 'it is better to go to Fantawild instead of Disney'
He is not the bad guy, he is the headmaster of the academy. What happened before is just a part of the entry exam to test the braveness of the new students. Finally everyone passed the exam
00:03:40 The giant's finger going over the rock and leaving it intact is a bit "strange". A somewhat serious mistake. It was probably a distraction error due to the frenzy of multimedia production. The time dilations are beautiful. The initial white video projection panel (which then opens) is a bit strange to see; it would have been better if it was darker or more integrated into the scene in a more coherent way. The initial part of the crocodile that breaks through the walls and appears on 3-4 different screens is a bit repetitive. After all, a nice attraction; very complex.
I’m honestly surprised the team didn’t notice the finger error. In my opinion the crocodile scene was pretty good, but it’s just too long And I believe that Attraction 360 camera has low light so you can see more details, so that’s why it isn’t dark
Wow. 90% of really bad 3D on screens, 10% left are really cheap and outdated animatronics (this ride opened in 2015 omg. Animatronics look like they're from before 1980 fr) and no attention to details at all (cables, doors, mechanisms, sounds!!). Well it's Made In China so... Expected i guess.
Hi! I was wondering if you’ve ever been to Japan’s Fuji Q Highland. There are many cool rides - I’m not sure if they’ll let you record on the rides, but it might be worth to ask them:) (or maybe they already asked you)
The fact that the 3D model of the wizard/headmaster has white hair but they gave a brown afro to the actor 🤡 The way they absolutely don' care about their own creations is WILD
Chinese rides are so weird in an awfully bad way. The queue lines suggests large crowds, but no one in line. The screens are too small to fill up your line of sight so they have a cheap quality. The story is nonexistent. It has a good length, but lacks any suspense. It obviously borrows a lot from US attractions in a bad way. That rolling ball is so bad. Lots of floating skulls. Munching alligators. Oh my.
Might not be as good as the top of the industry modern darkrides and the focus on screens is a lot in this one, but for a local park this is really good and I would be surprised if I rode this. It is all about expectations
I sincerely despise projection based "rides" unless it's marketed as a simulator. It allows ride devs to "get away" with hokey stuff like "Where are you now?" 'doesn't matter', "What are your ride vehicle capabilities?" 'who cares', and "Who is this guy?" 'I'm the good guy you've never seen, of course!' CGI over reliance are making things get sloppy and result in this raid: shadow legends level of cheese and lack of plot.
Yes we understand that it’s a distraction but without the glasses the video is extremely blurry. We will try to get make a filter that covers the whole lens next time.

gotta agree there. the fire room on that ride is always crazy to see (Do they still have that? Haven't been there in a bit)
Like on the first HP ride at Islands of Adventure? Or the Gringotts ride at universal? The newer Kong? F&F?

Harry Potter and The Chamber of 3D Screens
It's looks great and good to do it again this year contact with new 🆕 ride before so much
the screen transition at 2:38 is actually pretty good
The story plot of this ride: Tourists are the new students of this Wizard Academy, and those monsters( stone giants, trolls, dragons...) and the challenge of the headmaster himself are a part of the entry exam of the academy (such a crazy exam). Finally all the students passed the exam, at 8:18.
not the headmaster literally murdering students for the exam 1:06 💀
Thank you, my dude. Watching this with zero context was like watching unconnected clips from a trilogy of movies. The villain seemingly disappears halfway through, there’s an army of demons, and then suddenly a giant octopus shows up.
The fact that nobody else is on the ride is soooo telling
Yeah it’s worse when no one is on the ride due to the excess number of screens…
The Stargate theme song playing toward the end made me laugh 😂
I've never heard someone saying "I love the screen effects" but yet they keep adding them to dark rides
They will eventually close due to ridership
I liked the part where we veeeery slowly meandered away from the giant alligator.
I loved this! I want the game, the book, the animated series to go with this amazing ride!
This ride is so bad it's good....and metal AF. 10/10

There was a lot going on, that's for sure.
screens: the ride.
I don't know. maybe I'm old school. I prefer dark rides where things are actually there rather then stop and go looking at screens.
0:35 This ride uses music from the 2000 Disney movie, Dinosaur.
I’m shocked how LONG these ride in China are
Actually, these parks are built before Universal and Disney built their parks in China, and some tourists in China are constantly complaining about how short the Disney/Universal rides are. Screens...screens everywhere
So...our host is the bad guy who tried laughing it off at the end? What is this ride???
He is not the bad guy, he is the headmaster of the academy. What happened before is just a part of the entry exam to test the braveness of the new students. Finally everyone passed the exam
interesting how many rides from this part of the world has alot of slow motion, ALOT OF IT
Not likely that I would ever make it to this park, but that looked rather terrifying. I think it would be a pass for me to ride it in person.
the only kinda good bits were the croc walking across screens and the logs appearring adter the attack
Trying to figure out what was going on, then the villain guy does this corny thing with his hands in his ears and I couldn't stop laughing
The scenes are like mystic Manor.

3:17 Oh no, you can see the seam in between the screens 😂
my immediate disappointment when i saw the screen in there
Larry Cobbler and the Banned Adventure
The Harry Potter dark ride is pretty good
The screens are lame honeslty
Expected i guess.
why do the fantawild rides seem to have a body count (a digital body count)?
Has anyone realized they are using music from Disney’s dinosaur?
Hi! I was wondering if you’ve ever been to Japan’s Fuji Q Highland. There are many cool rides - I’m not sure if they’ll let you record on the rides, but it might be worth to ask them:) (or maybe they already asked you)
How rude. This is clearly based on Barry Botter and the Border of the Bhoenix. Not the same at all.
These types of rides remind me of the Jaws 3D movie from the 80s 😂
Are you saying this is like the “Escape from Gringotts” ride? Because it is absolutely like it but this is not Harry Potter.
I'd love to do a sci fi ride like this.
The fact that the 3D model of the wizard/headmaster has white hair but they gave a brown afro to the actor 🤡 The way they absolutely don' care about their own creations is WILD
may contain flashing images - well thats my eyes F***** LOL
The graphics and frame rates of the graphics on screen must be improved.
Shooting thru the 3D glasses doesn't make it 3D for us! 😂 or clearer,, it just gets in the way.
C'est pas mal comme attraction !
Idk what’s worse, the over reliance on screens… or how inexplicably bad the animation on the screens is…
Still better than .....(fill in the blank)
Terminus
The ride is actually very long and creative, longer than Transformers and Harry Potter ride.

That was dumb.
Put those glasses on 1:39
ana😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃👍👍😎😎👍👍👍👍👍😃😃😃🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👍👍
I was like cool, Chinese version of wizard ride... welp, where the magic?
Might not be as good as the top of the industry modern darkrides and the focus on screens is a lot in this one, but for a local park this is really good and I would be surprised if I rode this. It is all about expectations
What just happened
From warner bros
Yeah I bet
Aww
3Dライドでカメラにグラスを重ねるのをやめてください。ほとんどの場合とても見えにくくなります

I suppose this is the closest thing to a harry potter ride you can get while still keeping in good taste.
長谷川ちえ
Is this a 3D ride ?
Skibidi
台湾方特 Fantawild
Has nothing to do with Harry Potter
Pretending there isn't some heavy inspiration would be idiotic.
Agree. More like a copy of Curse of DarKastle (already closed) in Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
When you keep putting the glasses over the camera it is distracting and adds nothing of value to the video. Unwatchable.
Mildly distracting at worst. Don't be so melodramatic.
@@zydration3538 Nothing melodramatic. Merely stating my opinion about the quality of the video. It's not a good video.
It looks better with the glasses in front of the camera peanut
You ruined it by kept putting glasses up 3D only work with dual vision
I appreciate the effort and all you do but please put the glasses away. They are not needed and is actually distracting
Yes we understand that it’s a distraction but without the glasses the video is extremely blurry. We will try to get make a filter that covers the whole lens next time.
TH-cam allows anybody to upload videos should the ones they find not be to their personal expectations.
