Hi guys - boy, this would have come in handy a couple of years ago! If you look up my name, you'll see I am a customer of yours and I did a full overhaul of my 1957 Cadillac's 315 Jetaway. It had been pieced together by a previous rebuilder using a 1958 planetary and so the front end play could not be properly spaced. The front coupling grenaded on me near my home one day. The snap ring popped out of the coupler, doubled on itself, and lathed a groove into the coupling case. I got a new coupling, driven torus and cover but I have never gotten it to give me 3rd and 4th gear when the transmission fluid warmed up. I am about to drop the transmission a THIRD time (and since I work outside or in my carport, you can imagine the fun). So what I want to know is how one pressure-tests the front coupling, because if I am losing 3rd and 4th gear, fluid is leaking past something: either I damaged the o-ring seals, or a valve isn't closing, or a metal ring isn't sealing. If that transmission wasn't so danged heavy, I wouldn't mind dropping it and working on it but every time I have dropped it and thought I had it fixed and back in there and it doesn't work right, my soul dies a little... I WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR!!! And despite criticism, that Jetaway is so smooth when it wants to cooperate!
Sorry for the delay, never saw this message but the coupling assembly controls 2nd & 4th gear, so I'm not sure why you would have a problem with 3rd & 4th. As for that snap ring that popped out, they made an updated ring, so make sure that is what you are using. We have them in stock.

Did you fix your transmission? I have a jetaway -60 that doesnt want to shift to 3rd and 4th gear... Tried adjusting the tv-rod with no results.
Where can I find a bellhousing for the jetaway?
Get me a casting number and give us a call. We have most of them in stock.
