I was there!! It was on August 14th, 2010. Its almost been 10 years since the day of the event. Time flies!! It was such a beautiful night. As VERBAL from m-flo a.k.a. L-Universe said, almost 1,000 people came out to this event. In the event Nujabes's real voice was played. He said that you'd better practice any instruments if you have so much time to go to Karaoke, hahaha. And he recommended us one of his favorite albums. It's "My Favorite Things" by John Coltrane(1961) You taught me how wonderful music is. Thank you Nujabes san. I'm eternally grateful. R.I.P.
It's weird that one can feel so sad and so happy at the same time. It's a mixture of nostalgia, with pride in what new things these amazing artists will create next. Proof that Nujabes lives on even though he's making beats elsewhere. May Nujabes rest in peace, and may his music continue to give people new perspectives to everything the way these guys are proving it still does.
I had the honor of witnessing Shing02 live last night in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Seeing him perform Luv Sic pt. 1-4 was indescribable experience. The word epic doesn't even begin to do his performance justice. Rest In Beats Nujabes and Love Live Shing02!
