It's funny that you uploaded this because I am currently working in Dimension. Had to poke around and verify that you can't import and extrude paths in Dimension. I wish Adobe would add that ability because it would small things, like making a logo 3D, much simpler. Thanks for tutorials on Dimension. It's a great program and can deliver amazing results. I hope more designers start learning how to incorporate it into their workflow because it has a lot to offer.
I wish I know what else I have to do to even come so far as selecting that vektor thingy at the beginning. Sadly cannot hear it clearly..... and don't know what it is. BTW: Even when I have just the outline of something without backround, Photoshop still gives me a big block with what ever I want as a print on it lol

@@ForeverDansky I'm going to mess around with it again this weekend, To answer your question I have not only familiar with tinker CAD which is very limiting. Photoshop to me is slightly overwhelming but I think I can figure it out with a little bit of help
You can do for sure, it just depends on where you are going to do most of your work, and for me most of my 3D work is happening in either Dimension or Blender these days :)

If you're going to do 3D manipulation or compositing before rendering you are going to need to transfer the file into a 3D software and of curse you render straight from there afterwards. Blender FTW by the way!
I think Photoshop discontinued support for certain 3D features since this video, but you may still be able to install a previous version that has this functionality 👍
Photoshop 2022 does not really support 3d again. I don't know if you can make another tutorial on how to convert 2d images to 3d images in Adobe dimension
In case anyone else needs this, you have to be in RGB mode or the 3D menu will be inaccessible/greyed out. It took me forever to figure this out, I was in CMYK mode and couldn't get beyond Dansky's first step!

For some reason, when I do 3d on my shape layer, the color of it becomes darker. I have tried infinite light and all. I saw that some have similar issues with this one photoshop 2021. Does anyone by chance knows how to fox this?
They discontinued the 3D features for the latest version of Photoshop sadly, but may still work if you download an older version like 2021 for example.

i found the problem, it was the latest Nvidia studio drivers, they are not compatible with gpu on Adobe Dimensions, you need 442.92 . just in case you or someone else here gets this problem.

Good question Eric! The exported 3D model is similar to any other FBX/OBJ model, so in theory yea it could go through the same printing process :)

I've stuck with a 2020 version as well as the 2022 one on my PC. The 3D still works on the older version.
you can find the Ps CC 2019 version to use along with your current Ps version

Hey Kris, I think you may need an NVIDIA GPU to see the acceleration option in Preferences.
