I loved this format, it's so great to see all the progress being made, your journals look so beautiful in the shelf. I had a similar problem with a cabinet that the shelves wouldn't go in and we had to put in an extra piece of wood to make the gap smaller so the shelves would fit again. How could you not need more buttons, it's part of the essentials of life, what a lovely lot of goodies you got, this was such a fun video, thanks Barbara.

Love the new craft space. I'm so envious!!! OHHHhhh NOOOO. FYI for you. I also put my clear stamps into old CD cases I had and found that the poly...whatever chemicals are in some of these did not play well together with the clear stamps. I was lucky I found a set early enough that I didn't lose a bunch of my stamps. It seemed like the chemical reaction to the stamp materials did a little fighting and the stamps lost. They ended up starting to melt onto the CD case, thus causing me to lose a "layer" of the stamp itself when I tried to peel them off to use them. How I first spotted this was from a CD case that had "puckered" and wouldn't lay flat or close properly any more. IF you want to use these plastic storage containers, you may want to keep the original backing sheets on them for protection. I had tossed all of mine out so went with another "expense" to update. I now love my storage system and it's been in place for over a year or so. I used lightweight laminate sheets to replace my tossed ones, bought a box (well, several in my case) of 2-pocket sheet protectors, cut the 3-ring binder side off, and split the two pockets. A piece of plain white card stock in each pocket holds my stamps now & I just toss a number on the pocket & stamp each stamp on my small old rolodex (it holds 2000 cards) ... and thus I have an index of all stamps & all I need is the number to find anything. I feel like it took me 100 years to "figure it out", but for all the work I put in, I am definitely reaping the rewards. Oh, these 2-pocket sheets come 100 per box, so you'll have 200 when done cutting & trimming.... AND they fit nicely either in a 4x6 photo box, or in my case I found the perfect book cases on-line (Wayfair) to put them on, and I have SIX book cases ALMOST full. Sorry this is so long, but anyone out there putting these two "poly" mixes together ... BEWARE. Enjoy your videos all the time. Have a good one.

Barbara! I absolutely love that you are sharing your new craft room adventure! Birds and church bells? Heaven! 💖
I may have a relatively simple fix for your cabinet. First, you will need hardwood dowels the same size as the holes for the little pegs that support your shelves. This part might not be so desirable, but I don’t think they will be very visible. With a power drill, drill holes the same size as the dowel all the way through the exterior side (left) of the cabinet. These holes need to be in the same place as the current peg holes so they will be properly aligned and level. Slide the dowel from the outside of the cabinet into the hole and across to the matching peg hole on the interior side. Mark and cut the dowel so that it is flush to the outside of the cabinet. You can then fill, sand and paint to touch up the exterior of the cabinet. The two dowels should support each shelf okay. Try just one shelf. If the dowels are not strong enough, drill existing holes a bit bigger to support next bigger size dowel.
    Hope this helps. 😊

Your craft room looks awesome! 💓🎉
Re stamp sets, I pop mine in slim cellophane bags (individually labelled, & in categories) standing up in clear boxes, so all I need to do is flip through...as you would a file system. If that makes sense.
You have a wonderful space to work in...enjoy!!! 😊

Couple of ideas. For you scrap box; have your brother use some small 1x1 pieces to create a rail system for the shelves to sit on. You won't be able to move them but it will be sturdy.
I bought the plastic sleeves (Avery Elle type) and some small crates at dollar tree to stand them in. Hope that's helpful! Love the new space!!

I very much enjoy this format. Thank you for sharing your journey moving to your new home and craft room. Your new room and view are so nice. I'm sorry about the broken cabinet. I hope that your brother and your husband can fix it for you. You know, we paid the extra for the "fancy movers" and they insured the furniture but for packing they only insured what they packed. We had them pack only one large picture cause we really didn't want to take a chance with that artwork. Guess what, it was the only picture that the glass was broken on, everything we packed ourselves was fine. And as far as the furniture they scratched up ... yes, they fixed it but did such a poor job that my husband had to do it over. So I think you did the right thing not paying the extra.

Yes, I would definitely like to hang out with you more, Barbara. The book closet was cool and I’d like to go to the flea market with you. I wonder if you could add some floating open shelves above your new storage cubes? That could look nice and take up som wall space while giving you display room if needed. Your journals are fitting now, but you will be making many many more!

I love how your craft room is coming together! The painting of your mom is such a treasure to have. I look forward to hearing how those boxes work for your stamps. I keep mine in a drawer but it is hard to search through them all the time. The rug over the cords is a good idea but I worry the adhesive strips on the other kind would remove the finish on your floors when you tried to take them up. We returned last week from our 5,500 mile summer journey and I cannot tell you how many Haribo gummy bears I ate. They are my favorite snack as we drive and I even once found a bag of all pineapple - my favorite flavor! Love this format!

Greetings from New Zealand...again, lol. I had a modular pantry that wasn't very well put together, and had a similar issue (i.e. too wide to hold the shelves on the pegs. In the end, I got dowling that fit into the holes, and cut it longer than the little shelf pegs, so it would hold the shelves nicely. It has to be done on all 4 points, as the shelf pegs don't sit flush with the hole height - depending on the make, they tend to sit a little above or a little below. If the shelf is going to hold heavy things, I use metal rod instead of wood dowling. I have had to do this before for modular bookshelves when shelf pegs were lost and I couldn't find any in shops. Cheers.

Hi Barbara...I am from South Africa..have been watching your video's for some time now..love everything you do. Postage is very expensive here and our Postal services are almost non existing....so to get anything here save is by courier and very pricey. I wanted to order stuff many times but try and make mostly what I use in my journals. I can't sell but I enjoy it very much. Covid hit my family very hard and I lost my mojo like they say. But still watching so many artists from across the world. You introduced me to K-dramas...Mr. Sunshine was my first one...can't stop watching them. Anyway love your new craft room...wish you all the best...junk journal greetings...😘

You just made my day, please do more of these., we love seeing and hearing you ., I love your new shelf unit, I understand that you need to put your machine where it’s handier, however, I think you’ll enjoy looking at your boxes much more than your die cut machine. Just my opinion.
Your craft room is coming along so beautiful. I’m giggling to myself and wondering if you’ve got other rooms done., as you know we just did a renovation here, the only room that’s back together completely is My Craft Room. Lol lol. I love your craft room Barbara this is going to be so much fun for you to put it all together and organize it just the way you want without having to be shoved in the corner of the living room. I store almost all my stamps in CD cases. I already had a cabinet that held hundreds of CDs back from the day when people had CDs, I guess some people still do. I had a lot of wood mounted rubber stamps and I unmounted them all and put them in the CD cases they take up so much less room plus I got rid of so many that I will never use again. I love the movie star cigarette cards, I am old as dirt so I know who a lot of those people are like Mary Pickford and Anna May Wong.

I think you might end up wishing you'd bought the full size Kallax 😆. Rooms looks great. There is one potential downside of how you're storing your stamps: by taking them out of the packets you won't be able to tell viewers what set they have come from when you use them in projects - unless you add some labels perhaps.

as you mentioned the carpet for your floor, it made me think of the hard plastic (and basically unbreakable) chair mats for office chairs. Perhaps two or three of those under your table/desk and chair would offer good protection. You could always pick them up and take them outside to wash off. Also, I think those cable covers come in a type that does not adhere to the floor, but the material it is made of sort of clings to the floor. I'm happy for you with your new room, and I'm sure over the next weeks you will imbue it with your trademark style and it will be a true thing of beauty. And of course. . . that view of the garden. Birds, wind. Music for the creative ear. Hugs from Texas. Diane

Hi Barbara! Enjoy your new wonderful space! Just wanted to suggest something for your stamps. Stampendous have plastic storage containers which come in 3 different thicknesses (Thick, Thicker, Thin ) and they are wonderful for stamps (wooden, clear acrylic or mounted rubber). I am not sure if you will be able to find them in Austria, but it's worth a try because they are just awesome, not only for stamps, but in general for storage.

How about having hubby put up a shelf for your die cut machine. It might not be pretty, unless you have a cover, but sometimes convenience outweighs pretty.

Hi Barbara, Thinhs are coming together nicely!! Great inspiring view.
Just a thought about the drawing of Mom.
Plexiglass blocks 60% of uv rays. Also you can give glass a coat
    Of uv blocking solution
    Which blocks 90%.
    So it does not fade.
Love blog idea. I was watching when you were doing your calendar... So curious.... I am working on my retirement side hustle.
    While I am still working.
So looking forward to all you share.

I have heard that it is not a good idea to bunch electrical cables close together. I think because of the heat this creates and other issues. I think if you used some masking tape to stick them to the floor. If there was to be any sticky residue you can remove this with the help of some essential eucalyptus oil, which has the added benefit of smelling beautifully 🥰 Could you get slightly bigger shelves cut for your cabinet? I loved this vlog. It's great to see out your window, and see some trees already changing their colours, how amazing that you can hear church bells, I have always loved that sound🙂🙋

I would use metal corners for 1 bookshelf, so that you can pull the sides in somewhere around the middle. Hopefully it will bring in the sides enough, otherwise all the shelves in this way..

A cheap carpet would be fine, but you could also paint a floor canvas. A little color and design (leaves?) and a top varnish and you have a spill proof, flat floor covering.

It is exciting (and a bit overwhelming) to get a new craft space. Perhaps if you made/bought a pretty cover for your die cut machine it wouldn't look too ugly on your shelves??

Oh Wow! This was so much fun. Each time I see your Dream Box, I’m just crushed for you. Was your brother able to figure anything out about it? I hope someone can help you. Your room is coming right along. I think maybe the best part for you is that you can see things you forgot you had. Love the little quick peek we got of your October pages. They look beautiful. Can’t wait to see more. 💃🕺🏻 Doing my happy dance. Lol

Barbara: it seems you still have a lot of space for bookcases and close storage.
Before you purchase any other piece, think about the master plan for your craft room, and then work towards it. Carol from California

I store my stamps on the sheets they come on into loose leaf school binders. I bought those clear report covers and since by themselves they were too flimsy I added a piece of cardstock to each one. I then labeled the back of the binders so at a glance I can just grab the one I need. I really love being able to just flip through the pages to find the stamp I need. With this method you also still have the sheets they come on so you can see what each one is. The binders fit perfectly on my shelf.
    Loving the vlog.
    💖💖💖
I am so happy you have a craft room now but I will say you had an amazing set up in your tiny corner of the other apartment.
So sad that your craft cabinet got broken. Could you perhaps put another thin board down one side to make up for the gap and then drill holes so that the little shelf brackets will work properly again?

The cable "tubes" do not stay down.
The tape that came with it didn't hold and neither did the double back tape I had. So I pulled it up. I was so worried I wasn't going to get the tape residue up off my new wood floors.
Alcohol!! Took it up. I used a rag and lots of isopropyl alcohol. Also, alcohol will remove any paint you get on the floor.
    I'm a messy splatterer😂
I think maybe an industrial Matt would be best for the cord. They are heavy, and rubber backed so it wouldn't be easy to trip on

Please do not use adhesive on your floor, it WILL cause problems in the future. Have you thought about going up the wall, over the ceiling and then dropping down to the table with your cords? That is how we solved the issue in our quilt shop where we needed sewing machines plugged in for class time.

Those darn Haribo gummies are so GOOD and sooooo addicting! I rarely buy a package of those because I’m diabetic and almost eat the whole bag at one time! Our Michael’s store (hobby store) sell them at checkout and is so hard to resist. I haven’t bought any in months now as I’ve been dealing with a foot wound since June having had two surgeries and a wound vac attached to me, so candy is out as I need to control blood sugars for good wound healing. So sorry for your SCRAPBOX! So frustrating and annoying that the movers dropped it. You might have to get a good “construction” person who deals with cabinetry to help you repair it. Does the SCRAPBOX company sell a section of it separately by chance? I know these things are expensive though. I hope it gets solved soon so you can finish unpacking your things that go in it. I used a cable thing on my floor in an apartment in California to run cords through across the entrance to the hallway to bedrooms as I wanted an entertainment center on the dining room wall but didn’t have any Outlet. Had to run electric cord from living room to wall where I wanted my TV/Stereo system. I lost all $900 you pay upfront when renting because of it. The backing glued to the carpet and made a sticky mess, but I needed safety when walking to bath/bedrooms. In your case, there is a product called Undu used with scrapbooking adhesives like Scor-tape to remove tape adhesive or its counterpart called Goo-be-Gone that many people use here in their homes to unstick things. It likely would work on the wood flooring you have once you take up a channel piece stuck to the floor. Hope you get your SCRAPBOX fixed soon. 😉
