One of the best, most informative and honest in-depth reviews I've watched in quite some time. All the things you want to know about the car and other "reviews" won't tell you.
Thank you for the long, extensive review. It might feel too long (indeed it is) when you just sweep through car reviews to find the interesting car for you. But when you are about to buy one this kind of review is really good. I think Giulietta QV has a great sound but in reality it is much quieter than it sounds in the video (for me it is a plus). I made a buying decision partly based on your video and I'm not disappointed so far.
I suppose Golf or passat doesn't have plastic...so the same Audi or Merceds..Where's the problem with the plastic inside the car?..I don't understand. I have a Giulietta and it's good, has plastic like other thousand car. The sound of the motor it's a particular of Alfa Romeo. It must has this sound...Italian Alfa's driver want this sound, we want to drive and hear the engine, a sportive car must has the sound. Giulietta is not perfect, but it is a very beatiful car to drive. If you want to drive on the sofà, you buy Audi (good car but not sportive), if you love drive, you have to buy Alfa!
TheBlackestImp troppa trama , troppo lungo e troppo dolore da parte tua , è soprattutto troppa invidia . Te l'ho detto un buon anti acido due seghine e via . Amore mio comunque sei forte . Secondo me sei anche un renziano , così a naso .
Tsvetan Tsekov because italians hate each other. Tons of pure, totally off-topic shit threw at each other as if it was about life or death, and it's not even about the car! I don't know, looks like they have an on-off button.
I own this car I think the interior is beautiful everything can be done without removing your hands from the steering wheel the DNA GEAR box is a delight to use very minimal nothing to distract you from driving excellent car best alpha ever I have the 6 speed manual even tells you best time to change gear in Dynamic mode it holds the road like a baby chimp clinging to its mothers arms. Would highly recommend this to anyone stop start technology extremely responsive engine goes like stink. I love my alpha
Gold Max mine also has turbo pressure gauge in settings or apps turbo never exceeds 90 which is middle takes few mins to spool up I think you can only display turbo pressure on Dynamic mode sports drove out the showroom 1st day it came out on the new plate in ferrarai red I love my alpha. Never owned one before the turbo benzino 1.4 top speed 130 mph from 1.4 TB Engine still a delight to drive full on sports car surprised the hell out of me hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine also find the linguatronic voice control simple and very responsive to use the only thing I have found slightly annoying is it has a tendency to steam up and is quite easy to put the back windows down by accident when trying to open the front but small price to pay but I have on more than 1 occasion I have left the rear window down I have to admit USB Bluetooth line in iPad and Windows compatible ❤️ my 🚕 stereo isn't bad either. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine. Take car math thanks for the coms.
Mine has start stop button just under the DNA Button displays S in a circle when enabled doesn't always switch off until ll pressure shows around 90 smack bang in the middle of meter. Sorry got carried away and never answered. Your question sorry.
Vince, mine is in alfa red ( I think thats the same??) and mine is the 1750 tb engine, it goes really well, 6 seconds to 60mph. I like the car because of the style, the looks and the badge, not many around where I live in Lincolnshire UK, but lots of road to drive on!!
I bought my bright red Giulietta new in 2016 and I love it. It has not missed a beat from day one. Only two things disappointing aspects that irk me. The sound system is truly annoying, the Bluetooth connection works only when it feels like it, and the drivers footwell is really very cramped, could really do with a foot rest for your left foot when cruising. Other than that it's a delight, always enjoy driving it and always gets admiring glances.😁🇬🇧
Follow the crowd with focus st or golf gti, or get something different. Great wee cars, quick, reliable and subtle, a nice custom exhaust gives them more character
i appreciate how thorough this video is and think all car reviews should be the same, however, i would prefer more coverage on the drive over how good interior storage is, just my two cents, but thank you for the amount of effort you have put into this video anyway
I'm impressed too. And keeping in mind it's a car for people wanting practicality as well the thorough coverage on the interior is a really good thing. And I appreciate I could find out all the things I want to know in this video - like consumption with sporty driving, sound, actual dimensions of boot, 140ish km/h interior comfort, brakes (plus brake feedback as well, really important to me) and other things. 13+/100km seems way too much though....my Z4M is averaging 14-15l/100km driving it properly...and it's engine is quite older...and 3.2 liter 340hp n/a vs modern 1.8 liter 240hp turbo that should be quite more economical...
I'm on a break in period of the engine but it seems that results from the video may be quite real. I did 500 km, 200 in rush hours, mostly traffic jam and 300 km on the country roads (quite heavy traffic through half of the trip) with final result 10,1 l/100km, using 51 liters of Pb95. During city driving it shown about 12 - 14 l/100km, on the congested country road around 9,5 l/100km, during steady 100km/h driving in snow and with front wind it was about 7,5 l/100km.
That's quite a lot for a 1.75 liter turbo engine in 2016....my '93 6 cylinder BMW E36 did 12-14l/100km city driving...my '89 BMW 520i does 7l/100km with 100-120km/h but in the dry. I expected more improvement in the economy of new, downsized turbo motors... 10l/100 combined is bearable though.
Tsvetan Tsekov I also did. But on the other hand Alfa promise 9,5 l/100km in city. Every car I had eat about 130% of declared UE cycle so my results are on par with that. I think the main problem here is half open throttle (pumping losses) and gearing toward high speeds. It should have at least one more gear and optional Atkinson cycle for light eco driving.
While the exterior, the front and side views in particular, is exceptionally beautiful, the interior style and trim quality is a bit of a disappointment. Especially as it is the interior that the driver lives with and looks at from day to day. Another exceptionally good review that points out the negatives as well as the positive. Thank you.
I'm very curious if there is big difference interior and performance wise between Alfa giulietta 2018/2019/2020 ? Which one would be the best overall? Or maybe ford fiesta st?
Good review, but it would be even better if you included more driving - some city driving and also some twisty roads driving. Then we'd get all the information we needed.
Video Car Review If you can see the cockpit nice and clear right through the steeringwheel at its lowest position, that means it's not made for short persons.
Gold Max in Dynamic the steering and suspension is firmed up excelleration increased by 50% no traction control. in N or A steering can be turned with 1 finger even when the car is stationary. What's your over all opinion on the car so far had mine since 1st sept 2016. So not really a long time.
Vince, had mine since june, done about 2000 miles so far, don't get chance to go out too often but at weekends we'll go out and I really like the car. I do have a problem noise when accelerating especially when cold, its a buzz noise almost electronic sounding each time I'm on the gas, will need to get back to the dealer, also have a few rattles(worst one is the plastic cover under the sterring wheel ratlles). I find in N it soon goes into 6th gear and fuel is probably not being eaten away, but I love in Dynamic, especially in town at the traffic lights, put your foot down and you have confidence you won't look a fool. Some people do really look at the car, why not its a gorgeous shape and the running lights at the front are sharp and bright. Ride is quite hard because our roads are crap, I end up swerving around potholes, worried about the alloys !!
Gold Max I ain't experienced any problems like that whatever I think you maybe better getting it checked i also get road rumble when in dynamic but like you say your never left looking a fool great excelleration. From stand still.
Also, try washing your car and pull the windscreen wipers up? you can't, so be careful not to chip your bonnet as they foul, you need to stop the wipers in an upright position before turning off to safely lift them off the screen. BUT its an alfa and all adds to the character!!
Gold Max I had a similar problem myself max but mine was more of a clunky sound I though it was coming from the front suspension but after altering the steering wheel position slightly it almost stopped I don't know about yours but I have to say the plastic cover under the steering wheel is a bit of a shoddy piece of workmanship and the fuel consumption isn't great either average about 32 mpg and that's just driving normally I don't think that they are put together as well as the cars look. I love the looks but had Eco 4 Astra before and used to average around 60 mpg it's almost half from 1.7 CDTI
Actually less then you think. The sound is channeled by sound channels from engine compartment. It's not natural, it's what they made it sound like (in the cabin that is). So it's feasible. But I mean, the question is why, the sound is half the reason people buy this car :-D. Italian engineers would be probably baffled by this, why would anyone want to make the engine sound quieter? Your friends ought to shut up and listen to the engine instead of chitchatting.
Really mate??I mean ok i understand that you want a digital speed display to know exactly the speed of your car anytime but electronic handbrake??wtf?and why is that so important to not buy a car if it doesn't have it?lol for me manual handbrake is a lot more reliable anyways
Plastic parts are good. They are not cheap. Try replacing some pieces it will make your wallet thin very fast. Plastic is very durable and very easy to clean besides looking good.

The Measuring Tape Piece made me subscribe immediatly . Great vids
It's 1750, don't approximate to 1.8 liters! 1750 cm3 is an historic displacement!
My god those are sexy looking rims, I want them!
the rims definitely look amazing but be very careful they scratch very very easily and are very expensive to fix or replace
Graham Mylett never saw rims that can't get scratched .
This is the Potenza rim.

Of course. The less noise, the better. That's why cars are fitted with sound deadening in the first place.
