My grandmother speaks Plautdietsch. She's 102. I only know a few phrases and songs. I'd really love to learn more to keep it going. I learned High German by mistake, which I don't regret because I can be understood anywhere in Germany etc, but I really want to honor her and be true to my family history. Any suggestions would be welcome. Danke :)
In that case, try the North German public broadcasting service (NDR). Plattdüütsch might differ slightly from like your Plautdietsch home dialect, but it is merely a modern standard variety of one and the same language... www.ndr.de/kultur/norddeutsche_sprache/ To make things sure, you might wish to watch them together with a bunch genuine Plautdietsch-speaker and ask them whether they can make any sense of it.
A team of scholars recently (this year) announced the completion of the New Saxon Spelling system, or Nysassiske Skryvwyse, which is meant to be a system which works for speakers of all Low German dialects. It isn't exactly a textbook or a radio station, but I thought you might like it. th-cam.com/video/gO9dNqYWFq0/w-d-xo.html
