Probably the ignition, porting, exhaust tuned length and carb size. Not sure what the std 80 ignition map is like. I know the std 50 map is very restrictive for the UK bike.
I got one from ebay back in 2013, it arrived in bad shape, two exhaust stud holes stripped out, one so bad it looked smooth. One of the carburetor screw holes similarly missing its threads. I had colossal bad luck trying to big bore my AR80, I can't recommend it.
the 1988 kd80x shares the same engine i found a a kit from bdk in Britain very resonable and offer the kx65 upgraded reed valve milling and tuning. just search under AR50/80.
As years and years have gone by, I'm now unable to remember what parts I used, unless I find my notes. It's a big bore kit and nothing is stock, a BIG mistake. Instead of trying to make a classic and rare bike fast, I'd recommend everyone keep bikes like this stock. It was more effort than it was worth!
2t lover here😊
Hello David nice bike. Could you tell me if you touched up the Gold Rims and which spec color you used for it? Cheers Walter
Nice bike man!
sounds good. and our bikes made 9hp stock at the crank. not sure where they got their info from...
Hello sir I'm your loyal subscriber and I hope you will notice my question. May I know if your AR80 is all stock engine or mod?
Sorry I missed your question. It's a big bore kit nearly 100cc with a custom fabricated muffler.
i have a ar80 air cooled too but cant rev that high as your, how did you achieve it? music to my ears nice!
bigger carburetor?, maybe

@@nazcaplain i have my ar80 Aircooled as well.
@@nazcaplain I want to rev my AR80 to its full potential
hello , can you help me for buy rim ar80 ?
It revs up to 13,000 rpm which is very high but sounds more like 6,500rpm as it fires twice as fast as a 4 stroke.
I'm still on the fence as to whether I've "improved" the bike by turning it into a 2-stroke hand grenade...
Does it have a 4 stroke rev counter? 13,000rpm is twice as high on a 4 stroke.
Its a strong engine to rev all the way up to that without grenading. Ive heard many dirtbike engines blow up at that revs.
Kh o mph?
72mph - 115km/h
