I always seem to find the words I want to say much later than the moment they need to be said, and so… (since it’s an anniversary I guess it’s okay to get sentimental lol) When talk of the 10th anniversary started, I knew that I wanted to do something to say thank you. Of course, the idea of playing their songs was inevitable considering my TH-cam channel. Initially, I was going to do “10 songs for 10 years of Jannabi”, but after putting out a request to janfans and trying to pick my favourite songs, I couldn‘t decide! (Honestly, I think at this point I know how to play at least half of all their albums, plenty of the guitar solos from so many singles, I really wanted to play everything…) I didn’t want it to be too long, so I tried to choose important songs from the band’s history and threw in some fan favourites. As long as I was sure I COULD play the songs I chose for the “memory lane” medley, I thought it would be a good idea. As I was filming these covers, I felt pressure… Not because I thought the band would see it or anything like that, but because the songs and the band who wrote them mean a lot to me. I wanted to play them as well as I could, out of respect. I'm not the best guitarist in the world, but I hope I did. Jannabi is a band that reminds me of why I fell in love with music in the first place, and why I wanted to write my own songs and be in a band myself. They’re a special band that has such a unique and sincere spirit. So much of what they do, what they’ve created and how they did that is incredibly inspiring. The musicianship, the independent stance, the passion behind every performance, and the world they’ve created for the fans and themselves. They’ve been on such an incredible journey, and story they’re telling - lyrically, sonically, visually and with every action they make - is truly the stuff of legends. All the qualities of the bands that I grew up loving and aspiring to be seemed to reappear in Jannabi, but they have their own colour entirely. Timing is everything and it was quite a miracle that I found this band when I was losing sight of all those things that put a fire in my heart for music, if anything it burns even more strongly now. So I didn’t know how to adequately say thank you to them, and I still don’t think I do… I also felt pressured because I wasn’t even sure I could do it LOL. Seriously, about halfway through filming the “setlist”, I suddenly felt a wave of relief because the endeavour seemed achievable (I think you can see the songs where it happened in the video lol, I’m a little less stone-faced and move more when I play). And at that time, I suddenly got smacked by the realisation - “Wow, I can’t believe I’m doing this… I guess I really love this band.” That feeling comes every now and again. I think we all feel that way about the bands that have profoundly impacted our lives, whether it's at a concert, listening to a song or… covering their entire discography on guitar? lol. What else would possess me to do something like this?! The only reason could be love, really… The friends I’ve made because of this band, the kind comments from people and janfans from different corners of the earth who have watched this video and my other covers who are just happy seeing the band they love being loved by other people! We care so deeply about the music we love and the people who make that music! Music is so incredible!! It's really the best thing in the world. I think that’s why I don’t think I’ll be able to adequately express my gratitude to Jannabi for rekindling the love I had for music that I did as a kid when I heard Blur or Queen for the first time and decided to pick up a guitar… It really felt like that when I found them. I don’t know why I’m writing this now but it’s just something I’m thinking about today. I would’ve written it in the description but I've already written a lot… As long as this comment is, I still don’t think I’ve really said what I want to say… Anyway… I love Jannabi and I’m very grateful they exist. I guess that’s all that’s left to say. p.s. this is so long my god I'm sorry... also I would’ve tried to express this in Korean too, but considering I couldn’t even spell 로켓트 properly... 안녕!

(영어로 써서 죄송합니다!) - BOSS Waza Craft Fuzz - Behringer Compressor Sustainer - Strymon Deco - FFX Doble Cabron (듀얼 오버드라이브) - EHX Micro Pog - BOSS Tremolo - Mooer Reecho (딜레이) - X-VIVE Chorus/Vibrato 리버브는 Amplitube의 있는 플러그인만 사용하고 VOX 같은 앰프 사용했어요, 가끔은 펜더 리버브. 뜨거운 여름밤 할 때 로터리 이펙트 페달이 없기 때문에 로직 프로에서는 로터리 페달 플러그인을 사용했어요. 각 곡의 톤을 어떻게 만들었는지 더 자세한 설명을 원하시면 제 노션 페이지에 남길 수 있습니다!

각 시대나 곡에 맞는 사운드를 맞추려고 노력했습니다. 이것이 제 페달 보드의 이펰터에요. 이 모든 이펰터를 어느 시점에서 사용한 것 같아요. (영어로 써서 죄송합니다!)

리버브는 Amplitube의 있는 플러그인만 사용하고 VOX 같은 앰프 사용했어요, 가끔은 펜더 리버브.
뜨거운 여름밤 할 때 로터리 이펙트 페달이 없기 때문에 로직 프로에서는 로터리 페달 플러그인을 사용했어요.
