Hello friends, today we will visit one of my favorite cities in France, an unknown pearl, Annecy, the pearl of the French Alps, come with me and let's explore together 🤗
Annecy is a picturesque town located in the south-east of France in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, known for its natural beauty and rich history. Here are some important facts about Annecy:
1. Lake Annecy
Lake Annecy is one of the largest lakes in France and is famous for its crystal clear waters, often considered one of the cleanest lakes in Europe. It is a popular place for recreational activities such as swimming, boating, cycling and hiking.
2. Old Town (Vieille Ville)
Annecy has a charming old center with narrow, cobbled streets flanked by historic buildings. The area is crossed by canals, which earned it the nickname "Venice of the Alps". A famous place in the old town is the Isle Palace (Palais de l'Isle), an old castle that stands on an island in the middle of a canal.
3. Annecy Castle (Château d'Annecy)
Located on a hill overlooking the city, Annecy Castle is a symbol of the city. Built between the 13th and 16th centuries, the castle was the residence of the Count of Savoy and now houses a museum with exhibits on local history and culture, as well as the fauna and flora of the region.
4. Festivals and Events
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is one of the most important cultural events in the city, attracting artists and filmmakers from all over the world. It takes place annually in June and showcases the latest animated films.
The Fête du Lac is an annual festival that takes place in August, celebrating the lake with an impressive display of fireworks and music.
5. Outdoor activities
In addition to the water activities offered by the lake, Annecy is a popular destination for mountain sports enthusiasts. The proximity to the Alps makes the city a starting point for hiking, skiing, paragliding and cycling.
6. History and Culture
Annecy has a long history, having been inhabited since the Roman period. Throughout the Middle Ages, the city was under the influence of the House of Savoy, before becoming part of France in 1860. The city preserves many medieval and Renaissance buildings, offering a unique architectural landscape. In the 16th century, Annecy was an important center of the Catholic Counter-Reformation in Europe.
7. Gastronomy
Local gastronomy is influenced by mountain cuisine, with rich and hearty dishes. Some of the most famous dishes include tartiflette (potato au gratin with Reblochon cheese, bacon and onion) and fondue savoyarde (fondue with local cheeses).
8. Accessibility
Annecy is located close to the border with Switzerland, about 40 km from Geneva, making it easily accessible for tourists from all over the world. The city has a good network of trains and roads, being well connected to other major cities in France and Europe.
Annecy is a special place, with spectacular landscapes, a rich history and a varied offer of cultural and recreational activities, being one of the most popular tourist destinations in France.

Такой уютный город не может не понравиться! Подкупает обилие зелени и водных каналов. А ещё - люди: никуда не спешат, гуляют прогулочным шагом, сидят в кафе, наслаждаются жизнью. Я понимаю, что это историческая часть города, здесь даже транспорта нет; то есть основная масса людей, попавших в кадр - туристы. Но это не отменяет атмосферы уюта, камерности, умиротворения. И когда вот так, никуда не торопишься, можно задуматься о вечном и зайти в церковь. Интересно, а в современной части города каково? Так же растет лоза и на тротуаре играют уличные музыканты? Сомневаюсь. Как жаль, что та красота и благодать, что Вы показали, в полной мере присутствует только в туристических зонах. Иллюзия. Или созданная человеком искусственная реальность из синтеза современности и прошлого. А на деле - ни то, ни другое: для современности не хватает суеты и транспорта, для прошлого - грязи и нищих на папертях церквей. Но, по сути, ни один туристический объект не претендует на абсолютную достоверность. А попасть в эту сказку тем не менее приятно! Мне даже с экрана смотреть приятно! Спасибо за доставленное удовольствие!
