  • Building A Pad For TRASH CANS | DIY Yard Projects | Trash Can Pad DIY | Life With Liz
Welcome back to Life with Liz! Today I will be taking you with me as I am building a pad for trash cans. We have both a trash can and recycling bin that our city picks up from so we need to build a pad large enough for both. This is the first of many DIY yard projects you will be seeing this spring so make sure you are subscribed with your bell notifications on so you know when my other videos are out to motivate you. Where are your trash cans stored?
In the future I would like to add a little fence coming out from the house to help hide the trash cans from when you pull up to it. Do you guys have any diy yard projects you are planning on doing this spring or summer? We have a few coming up I am excited for.
I am so happy with how this trash can pad turned out. It looks so much better! I cant wait to get that fence up in the future too. If you enjoyed today’s trash can pad diy please be sure to like it and to come say hi in the comments. Also remember to subscribe if you haven’t already. Monday’s video is my kitchen organization and you wont want to miss it! Thank you so much for watching and have a great weekend.

@Hank Hill it was just sand. That's the only 2 products I used. I just put sand over the top and in the cracks to prevent grass from growing through. We have had no issues so far and it's been 8ish months.

Very helpful video. Now that it is a year later - how is the concrete holding up? I am interested in doing something similar, but the trash cans be sometimes heavy and I'm worried that as I push and pull them over the concrete they would break over time.

I plan to do this for my trash. I used to keep them in the front in front of the garage but earlier this year moved them to the side of the house (hated them being at the front). Also, planning to make pads where I have two large flower pots. Glad that I came across this video, Will be my guide.

Thanks for the video. Glad to see in comments that it has held up well. I was thinking you might get some erosion around the edge. I plan on doing this over the upcoming weekend. My thought though was to try and get them flush with the surrounding grass to allow for a smooth roll onto the pad. I will see how that goes. Take care.

Recommend Polymeric sand to fill in between pavers. Rain will wash out the sand you put in and the pavers will be loose. Also paver edging helps keep them in place.

I redid it 2 years ago with a coarse paver base under the sand and also used the plastic form pieces around the outer edges. There is no chance for the pavers to shift now. I guess it all depends on how much you care about how finished it looks. It still served it's purpose with the uneven pavers, I just didn't like the way it looked. Thanks for posting up your video!!

Good job! A simple "screed" would help in levelling.
    A) Weed blocker
B)a "paver base" to eliminate using and carrying so much sand
    C) paver edge restrain
    D) slope slightly away from home
    E) play sand for filljng cracks
    F) finish off with sealer to minimize stains, mold from moisture.
