  • In this video, I show you how to sew the Applique Stitch using two felt pieces. This stitch is commonly used when I'm making Bucilla Felt kits because each piece requires this specific stitch to complete each felt project! Check out more mini tutorials, down below👇

Do you have a video that shows how to attach stuffed pieces to other stuffed pieces? For example I am working on the Santa Paws stocking and I’m trying to attach a completed, stuffed dog to Santa (and the tree) thats already stuffed. The instructions say to attach the dog with several small stitches. I’m not quite sure which stitch I should do and if I should go through the other stuffed pieces? Either way the dog doesnt feel entirely secure. Thank your for your videos! They are helpful as I’m fairly new to the bucilla felt kit world!

Great question! When you're attaching one stuffed piece onto another, make sure you do NOT go through the stuffing to the back! I made this mistake with my very first stocking and it ruins the look of it! When adding, only sew through the top felt layer, never sew through more than 2 layers of felt. I'll be happy to add this type of video to my list. I think it'll help a lot of people. Thank you so much for commenting!

Yes PLEASE! I’d love to see how to stuff pieces as you’re appliquéing them to the stocking and also how to stuff two cut out pieces together (I’m making a wing of a bird and I’m supposed to appliqué the front to the back with stuffing). Thanks!

I know this is probably oddly specific, but could you possibly do a tutorial on how to attach a top cuff? (the part with the name) to the main front of the stocking? Every time I think I’ve got it down my stitches seem to just get wrapped around the outside of the stocking when I round the corner from the side to the bottom. My brain works very logically, but i can’t seem to figure it out by imagining how the needle should move, so I’m thinking a video would help a lot to visualize it. Thank you!!

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm sure you're not the only one who struggles with this. I'll put it on my list of videos to make!

In another video you showed how to line an already made stocking. If you are making a new one, do you do the same? Applique the front to the back, including the top and then do you applique the new back to the lining piece?

When I add the lining to a new stocking, I put the lining on first after the front is finished and then add the back.

Same rule applies just place the felt you want to applique on it's number/outline, pin if needed, hide your knot between the 2 pieces by coming up through the top felt piece and start appliqueing. I show how to do this in many of my tutorials. but I can make a short video on how to do this too. Thank you for your feedback.
