    Just so you know every Sunday the Urbi et Orbi is not given. His Holiness leads the Angelus from the window of the Apostolic Palace. The Urbi et Orbi is only given on Christmas, Easter, and at the election of a new Pope.

      I thought the speech was called urbi et orbi and the mass was called Angelus?

    • @ndbaseball2
      @ndbaseball2 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Angelus is a set of prayers, privately prayed each day at 6am, noon, and 6pm. The Holy Father prays it publicly with those gathered in the square on Sundays at noon, with a short address to those gathered. Freck423 is correct about the Urbi et Orbi. The Urbi et Orbi is a special blessing given at those times, and the name stands for what is being blessed, literally “to the city (of Rome) and to the world.” The Mass is the highest form of prayer for Catholics in which the Eucharist is confected, the re-presentation of Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. The Holy Father typically has offered Mass publicly about once a month, either in St. Peter’s basilica or out in the square, seasonal weather depending. The times he is down in the square and gives a speech is for the Wednesday Audience (or it’s given in the Paul VI Hall, located just South of the Basilica, during the winter months). Hope this helps!

    When you visit Rome you dont need a Taxi. Use the Metro or Buses a cross the city.. It's fast and cheap.

      I wish that were true for all travelers, but different travelers have different needs, and circumstances for their visits.
