    SF certification dumps devalue the struggles of all the people who actually learn the material properly and pass. Great video!

    • @thetechconsultant
      @thetechconsultant 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You still have to learn the material. You can’t use notes while taking the exam. I’m not sure how it was when you took it, but my online exam was proctored. That’s how all of them are now. You can’t use notes of any kind or have a second monitor connected. The proctored system also tests for nearby mobile devices.

    • @thetechconsultant
      @thetechconsultant 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Additionally, the answers on data dumps are more incorrect than not half the time. I’m pretty sure they aren’t actually passing anyone who don’t know what they’re doing.

    If the questions on the Cert test looked anything at all like the real work that I do I would agree that certs are important. It is my eperience that 80 - 90 per cent of the questions are absurd and irrelevant.

    • @janebellow
      @janebellow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      EXACTLY! I have been working with SF for years. I have experience with setting orgs, preparing demos, being an Administrator as well as an Analyst and SF trainer in different companies. I studied all Trailheads related to the certifications (btw they are good practice, but not relevant for the exam questions) and STILL managed to fail the basic Admin exam. Because most of the questions are absolutely ridiculous. I am sorry, but what else can you do other than using the dumps? It`s more about learning the questions than your actual experience. Also, not all dumps are bad (eg. FocusOnForce).

    • @angiev1840
      @angiev1840 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      See, this is what I'm worried about. I have almost 4 years experience as a SF admin but never took the test. My company downsized and now I'm looking for a job and see people asking for the certification so I'm trying to take it quickly. Because I learned SF in the real world, my answers to the questions are almost always--well, it depends. I'm worried about overthinking the questions.

      @@janebellow right now I have been studying to get my certification as a SF Admin and I have read what you say and now I’m soooo nervous 😆. Also, the theory part I’m studying at FocusOnForce, and the practice I’m doing it obviously in Trailhead. Do you think this is something good to do? I’m really motivated in this, I would love get a job in this, it would be so much fun! I hope you can help me with any advice. 😁

    • @ronc9040
      @ronc9040 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luisescalante4897 I did exactly that when studying for my Admin Cert. The FocusOnForce learning is good (sort of a summary really) and practice exams highlight what you need to concentrate on. I also used trailhead a lot for hands on stuff.

    Well said David! I just had to ban a bunch of people advertising these on the Facebook Group I run for people like myself who have been laid off by Salesforce. Unfortunately too many companies fall victim to these "paper engineers" who are good talkers and can sway non-technical managers but who sometimes lack even the most basic skills and hide it by deflecting or outsourcing any technical questions. The price paid when projects fail or get delayed due to their lack of true ability can be extremely high.

  • @floridase
    @floridase 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The only problem that I have with the Salesforce Certification process is that there are no mock exams. If there were, then that would have helped people prepare for what is to come. A certification exam has major repercussions, and there is a lot hanging in the balance for many - certification fees, jobs, career growth, etc. but you are alone writing the certification exam, while a work environment is collaborative.

    I dont have a single cert, but I been doing this for 6 years & 11 years in IT. However, I have alot of cert SF ppl ask me questions in projects that I am part that i believe they should know the info since they are the CERT. I use the same resources as everyone, but i did not want to take the test. I like doing and learning, but not bubble paper test. I earn over 150k - 365k. Bottom range is salary and Top range is project bunty hunting. Just other opinion DO vs Memory.

I am currently learning for salesforce admin course, while its taking me sometime few people suggested these dumps, I was so tempted using them but as your mentioned in your video it will be very difficult for me to go to next step with my own knowledge. Hey David
    That's the problem with the world.
    I never did any certifications for i never like to pay for exams. But I have fair knowledge of Salesforce. Now that I am actively searching for a better career opportunity( for financial, knowledge & expert purposes) , 95% of people are like how many certifications do you have, what is your previous CTC, what is your expected CTC, ... .
    Cliches of the world...
    Now I understand why I am smarter than many of the Tech. Leads in my present company with 8 - 10 years of experience. Because of them I grew arrogance in my heart that why do they get paid so so much more when clearly they don't know many things and I offer my experience in some matters and they never help me.

    Appreciate the thoughts David! Question: if I get your first five core certifications that you recommend AND the Developer 1 cert, how competitive am I for a Dev job? What can I do to show my coding skills? I have an idea to make up a company for a world I’m building (I like to write science fiction, as a hobby so why not combine my hobby and training for SF) as an example but I’m not sure if that would turn off recruiters as being too “weird”. Your thoughts?

      This may be too late but use the free developer version to develop test apps. Without experience, you need to prove that you can code. It doesn't matter if it's science fiction. I like sci-fi. I would think it's cool and a lot of other people would too.

    Someone in my family works for a start-up CRM company and they currently have a contract with the government and the person handling the governments CRM has no idea what she's doing and she's about to get fired. I heard another story of someone pretending to be a salesforce architect, I heard it all, Live, as it was unfolding, it was UNREAL.. another story, Long ago I worked for the union, and I would carpool to work with a journeymen, a guy I got hired on with. Anyways, 3 days after being hired I had to leave early because our foremen tested him and he couldn't do what he said he could do. guy was crying on he way home.

      As a point of reference I got few questions that my friends remembered and wrote down - simply, because they struggled with it. Those had no answers - yup, whats the point of cheating yourself? They all said "this is what you have to be prepared for. We say those are the hardest ones we had". I went to exam. Questions friends showed me seemed like a low-level when compared to about 25-30% of the questions I had on my exam. I failed. They all said something has changed. They were 100% sure Im ready for it and I will not only pass but I will pass with a high score.

    It helps you prepare but you should not just memorize the answers, you need to know why it is the answer.

    I wish I had not seen this video. I was unfamiliar to this certification dump term. But it's damn addictive (Something's gonna give you free certificate). Well it's really hard to be honest n follow the hard path specially when you know the easy path.

    Hi David.. I heard if anyone pass an exam with help of dumps, his or her certification will get cancelled? Salesforce is tracking buying a dumps closely. Is this true or a rumour? Please answer. Thanks.

    How do people manage to clear 2 certifications on same day, How do they make sure to get 18-20 certification in a years times being on a full time project, it affects those who take months to prepare, these people are preferred for promotion whereas those who do their project work and don’t manage to get so many certifications in less time are considered average. Either you just toss your personal life or just don’t expect any appreciation for your actual work for which you are hired.

  • @rigobertoguthemberg

    Salesforce certification is just a business. They want the maximum people to buy the exam and if it were harder less people would buy it, because why take the risk to lose 200€ in an exam?
    The exams at the end are useless and doesn't prove anything. Its like the car drive license exams, you can be a really good driver and fail, or you can be a novel driver that pass the exam and has an accident the first day you take the car.
    Solutions, have much less exams but harder. 60% of the note with a practical exercise and 40% of the note with theory.

    Do you recommend taking the practice test that are available in some of the sites after doing the trailhead nodules?? It has happened in the past that doing the practice test helps my weakness in certain areas and focus on it.. I am planning to take other certifications wat do you recommend me..

  • @abark

    Post on Facebook saying you need help and you will be inundated with offers for a proxy to take the test for you. As long as companies will hire cut and paste so called developers and offshore staff, I hardly think dumps are even worth worrying about. Have you ever looked at them? The answers are so horrendously wrong, I'd be surprised if anyone using them actually passes.
    Now, don't even get me started with all of the engineers(like.. mechanical, architects, civil, chemical, petroleum) who are out there working with some bogus 3rd world credentials from a degree mill in India or Africa.

    I hate certifications (note haven't done salesforce ones but have done other ones). I'd use dumps everytime i need a cert. To me certifications don't prove very much, are over priced and aren't a good system in the first place. Someone can pass certs and know be any good at what the cert certifys and its not unlikely for someone with years of experience on the platform to fail to get the cert. To me that means that certs aren't very useful and the only reason to get them is to show recruiters.
