Dispite the paint issues she really looks sharp! I built that kit a while ago and made it factory stock.But your right the fit issues are horrendous! And the hood does not close properly! Anyway great job and have great weekend buddy! 👍👌Dan
Turned out well in the end! Very intriguing color. I'm sure it's similar to the chromes and will turn silver and have more metallic/flake look with a clear.
I used Tamyia paint I know that silver and black sometimes a gloss black are difficult to paint sometimes it depends on the humidity or how cold it is or how warm it is in your place or if you're using an airbrush or rattle can I think sometimes those two colors are really hard to make them look good on a model I like your Corvette it's awesome looking
Also I forgot to mention is that I paint the body last only because I test fit everything my chassis is done the engine's done the engine is glued to the chassis the wheels and tires are glued to the chassis and the interior tub is all finished the way you like it and if everything fits the body fits over everything and everything looks good then paint the body I always paint the body last only because of doing a lot of test fitting
Brother I feel your pain, if you will notice the plastic being used by the company's is softer than it used to be and causing lots of problems. We just do what we can and move on to the next ADVENTURE.. MERRY CHRISTMAS BROTHER 🎄
It's a problem with the AMT model kits. They leave residual release agent on the plastic that often does not wash off. I agree with that kit being a nightmare. It was a big disappointment. Your build looks amazing! I have used Tamiya silver with a clear coat with great results, so you might try that in the future.

Great job ! Generally I found out that when the paint says no clear coat it will react with the clear coat and orange peel or wrinkle.

It's a pricey but spectacular color. I'll be testing a clearcoat on a spare body given to me by a LHS owner. He's as curious as I am about it.
I tested this paint process on a spare body and it looks better without a clearcoat.
i always like to use flat black .or a gray primer.before. i use my blue paint .for the spray on the model.nice job painting your model car.

I understand you but I painted a '69 charger in Tamyia's glass black it came out okay but I also use decals to hide my mistakes
