So glad you are back. I am 82 years old and just started watercolor about 3 months ago. I found your watercolor journal about the same time. Thank you for all the encouragement.
This was such a fun tutorial plus the opportunity to practice trees, values, and birds…perfect! I tend to like using lots of bright colors, so really helpful for me to use a limited palette. Thanks Shana!
Hello Shana 😊, it was like Christmas came a little early for me yesterday when I saw your video! Love watching you paint ❤, I was a little worried, and I’m happy everything is okay 😊
Hi, Great to see you back. Can you please let me know how much water you use to ‘wake up’ your paints? I also use qor and give them a spray a few minutes before starting but mine definitely do not come out of the pans as easily as yours seem too. I don’t know if this makes a difference but mine are from tubes I’ve put into pans not the mini kit you are currently using. Thanks
Hi there, The tubes definitely take a little more water and time to wake up and slightly more pressure. My palette in all the videos 1-100 in the watercolor journal series is using tubes dried in pans. Give it a good spray and let it sit for 30 seconds before you begin.
Hi Shana! I can’t wait to paint this one! I looked into QoR palettes (on Amazon). I’m curious as to why a six color set is around $25 and the mini palette with 12 colors is around $72? Any thoughts? Thank you 😊
Hi Ellen, I’m not sure but some of my best guesses are the colors offered in the palette. Some colors are more expensive than others. If you are up for it, the QOR tube set of 12 looks to be the better deal right now at $50. I use tube paints in my main palette but do love the convenience of the QOR mini with the pan paints. The pans seem even more pigmented than the tube paints, so a little goes a long way! I hope that helps.
@@shanacirce2667 Thank you for getting back to me! Shana, you MAKE me want to paint! But I yell at you to slow down (in a joking manner 😄). I attempted that whimsical house with balcony and my husband goes, “What the hell are you painting?” Bahahhahaaaaaaa 😂 Love you, girl!
Thank you.
