I’ve just realised. I always questioned how Chuuya’s power resulted in: A) a kind of telekinesis, and B) energy balls? But I figured it out. The things he throws are 𝘣𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘴, the the telekinetic power is him manipulating gravity to pull things in certain directions, with precision he likely honed for a long time to get to be so effective.

Its actually funny to me that for the most powerful character in the series, Chuuya gets the most meh fight scenes, you'll have super detailed long fights between characters and then there will be Chuuya looking like a faceless blob flinging black holes if its not a fight happening off screen. His best fights are mostly in the novels like Dead Apple, Fifteen and Stormbringer. Personally I think the series really picks up with Fyodor. Chuuya's gravity powers are funny cause he uses it in such subtle ways that it doesn't even come across as gravity manipulation. Like my dude can not make shit float as if he had telekinesis, he can only control one specific force acting upon an object out of the many forces acting on it, so to kick back bullets or toss rocks he probably has to consider all these other factors and conditions aside from gravity to the minutest detail with precision. And its even better in the novels cause the author has a masters degree in physics and it shows.
Fun fact: Chuuya is under the Taurus zodiac sign which is a star sign famous for their practical and stubborn personalities. Tauruses are also known to be grounded, as in having a level-head, but that sometimes seems to be the opposite for Chuuya. Whenever Dazai is around, he becomes extremely irritated and cannot control his emotions. However, when Dazai is not around, he can keep a calm head and observe things calmly, as a mafioso should.

Okay so... I've been waiting for these episodes for so long because I love them way too much for my own good and because of that, I wanted to make a list of things that the anime changed from the 15 light novel. If you're gonna read this... buckle up, this might be long. 1) Dazai's portrayal is VERY different in the ln than in the anime. He is more bratty and childish and just generally has more life and emotion to him - he talks back to Mori, he complains about Mori very obviously manipulating and lying to him, he tells Mori he'll betray him and join an enemy organization, etc. He also seems genuinely surprised that Mori would ask him why he wants to die and confused about the fact that unlike himself, he doesn't see life as meaningless. 2) Dazai and Chuuya's interactions. Sure, the gist of it is still there but there's quite a few fun exchanges missing - Dazi telling Chuuya he was once invited to join the Sheep but refused, Chuuya responding with "good, I would have kicked you to death if we were in the same organization" and Dazai retaliating with "I would have assassinated you long before that" or just Dazai straight-up saying "that's what makes me love you!" to Chuuya 3) When Mori told Chuuya that he would kill all his friends if he didn't cooperate in the ln, Chuuya almost punched him in the face (and probably would have obliterated him with one hit) but stopped his fist like an inch from his face because he heard his friends calling for his help through the communicator. He didn't just stand in one place. 4) Dazai called one of the Sheep a little lamb in the arcade :) he also called Chuuya his dog at least twice as many times as he did in the anime 5) That party Dazai was throwing for Chuuya with Randou at the end of the second episode was actually covering up a pitfall that Dazai set up to mess with Chuuya. He explained to Randou that his plan was to have Chuuya fall through a hole hidden by the carpet, fill it with some sort of sludgy liquid and then pour tons of flour on top of it. That way, Chuuya wouldn't be able to escape and the only way for him to fight back would be to concentrate his gravity manipulation around his mouth and nose and scream curses at Dazai who would listen to them as if they were music while enjoying the snacks he prepared for the party. Randou's response was that he has the potential to be a torture specialist :) 6) This is more of a headcanon than anything but if you think about it, this whole time, Chuuya doesn't have his choker, he only started wearing one after he joined the mafia and considering how often Dazai calls him his dog, I would not be surprised if he was the one who gave it to him I'll definitely add more thoughts when you upload the next episodes because I have MANY thoughts about how they handled Randou's character in the anime but that would be spoilers for now. Also, if anyone who read the light novel actually got to the end of this comment, feel free to add stuff I may have left out :D

Oh I've been waiting so much for this! The 15 arc is really good. I hate to say to read stuff but you 100% are going to want to read the light novel Stormbringer if you want to know more about both Chuuya, cube guy, and Arahabaki after this.
The name of the Sheep is actually another literature reference! It's a reference to another poem by the real Nakahara Chuuya, Sheep Song. The words Chuuya uses to activate corruption actually come from Sheep Song! Of course, that doesn't excuse how weak of a group name that is fhdjjs

I feel like the second opening only has spoilers if you already know they are spoilers. I mean the only way you're going to tell who the fifth Hunting Dog is is by already knowing. They're not even facing towards the camera, and are behind all the others in the identical uniform. Plus the lighting and hat makes it hard to see their hair. It's actually less spoilery than the season 4 poster which depicted all 5 Hunting Dogs, with number 5 being hidden in the upper right corner.

I squealed when I got this notification. The 15 arc is one of my favourite parts of the anime, despite me liking the manga more its really good and fun to watch. Season three is probably my favourite season thus far though. Can't wait for the next episode :D

***Manga Reader & Already watched all the seasons leading to the current episode of S4*** Season 3 is definitely where the series got better, animation ramped up, and all the pieces started falling into place. S4 starts with a flashback but I think you'll really love that flashback. I know I did! Season 4 animation is peak af. S4 is currently 7 episodes in with the 8th episode come out tomorrow. New episode comes out every Wednesday. They've already started with the dub for S4.
Fun fact: Chuuya's VA is in a rock metal band and he sang the first and third opening and the song for Dead Apple and Tachibana, the ginger-haired man from Black Lizard, sings the second opening!
Season 3 is an amazing season. I feel like the flashback is definitely a lot better put in rather than Season 2's Dark Era, so agreed! It's definitely a great season. You get to know a lot more about the main antagonist of the story, and I'm sure Danny's going to be shocked about the authors included in this whole season!
Danny, skits are always top peak comedy 😂 As someone who is caught up on the manga, I would say things get much more intense once you get to season 4, and it will stay like that for a while. Also Asagiri (author) writes the novel 15 (these first three episodes) with much more detail added in. I would recommend reading 15 and the stormbringer novel (which is the sequel to 15) whenever you have free time as both are really interesting reads and gives a bit more insight to Chuuya and Dazai's characters
All the ending songs are inspired by the characters. I could be wrong but iirc s1 ending song is for atsushi, s2 is dazai's letter to odasaku, and s3 ending song (Lily) is inspired by chuuya's character and his relationship with the sheep. I love Lily the most out of them all

I will just say that all of his other abilities except some of the details of Corruption are consistent with total control of gravity's degree, direction, etc. He makes himself heavier or lighter at will, and even kicking back bullets was done via controlling gravitational effects, not telekinesis or raw power.
fun fact: the reason there was a "random guy" alone in the plane was that not only is he not a normal guy, he's a mafia grunt and because chuuya killed the rest of his squad he managed to escape for a bit
season three is amazing, not only is the opening a certified BANGER, but the episodes get so good they have you on your SEAT. Can't wait for next reaction!
Since you love rage sumonings, may I recomend *Mo Dao Zu Shi*; Magic swords, Zombies, Ghost sumoning talismans and Jin Ling’s uncle... For at times we found Jin Ling’s uncle super annoying!! But on the other hand, we really loved Jin Ling's uncle and also Jings Ling's uncle! and I'm kinda iffy about Jin Ling’s uncle he's cool but also kinda a bad person but Jin Ling's uncle did kill Jin Ling's uncle so it makes sense why Jin Ling's uncle wanted revenge of jin Ling’s uncle but he also used Jin Ling's uncle and others to obtain his revenge.

The name of the Sheep is actually another literature reference! It's a reference to another poem by the real Nakahara Chuuya, Sheep Song. The words Chuuya uses to activate corruption actually come from Sheep Song!

I feel like the second opening only has spoilers if you already know they are spoilers. I mean the only way you're going to tell who the fifth Hunting Dog is is by already knowing. They're not even facing towards the camera, and are behind all the others in the identical uniform. Plus the lighting and hat makes it hard to see their hair. It's actually less spoilery than the season 4 poster which depicted all 5 Hunting Dogs, with number 5 being hidden in the upper right corner.

I squealed when I got this notification. The 15 arc is one of my favourite parts of the anime, despite me liking the manga more its really good and fun to watch. Season three is probably my favourite season thus far though.

Season 3 is definitely where the series got better, animation ramped up, and all the pieces started falling into place. S4 starts with a flashback but I think you'll really love that flashback. I know I did! Season 4 animation is peak af. S4 is currently 7 episodes in with the 8th episode come out tomorrow. New episode comes out every Wednesday. They've already started with the dub for S4.

I recently read Stormbringer and I now understand the Chuuya hype. I am on the Chuuya hype train. this is one of my favorite videos now haha
Season 3 is an amazing season. I feel like the flashback is definitely a lot better put in rather than Season 2's Dark Era, so agreed! It's definitely a great season. You get to know a lot more about the main antagonist of the story, and I'm sure Danny's going to be shocked about the authors included in this whole season!

Danny, skits are always top peak comedy 😂 As someone who is caught up on the manga, I would say things get much more intense once you get to season 4, and it will stay like that for a while. Also Asagiri (author) writes the novel 15 (these first three episodes) with much more detail added in. I would recommend reading 15 and the stormbringer novel (which is the sequel to 15) whenever you have free time as both are really interesting reads and gives a bit more insight to Chuuya and Dazai's characters

All the ending songs are inspired by the characters. I could be wrong but iirc s1 ending song is for atsushi, s2 is dazai's letter to odasaku, and s3 ending song (Lily) is inspired by chuuya's character and his relationship with the sheep. I love Lily the most out of them all

I will just say that all of his other abilities except some of the details of Corruption are consistent with total control of gravity's degree, direction, etc. He makes himself heavier or lighter at will, and even kicking back bullets was done via controlling gravitational effects, not telekinesis or raw power.
Dazai is a bit taller here, but yeah, Chuya really doesn't get any taller after this while Dazai shoots up.
From what I recall he grew a single inch. He was 5'2 and is 5'3 in the present manga
