i am 54 now but i am a long-time Dallas Cowboys fan and my dad used to take me to the Thousand Oaks training camp in the late 60"s and I can tell you guys for a fact pictures did not do her justice . Joey would stand there watching practice and she looked fantastic no make-up wearing shorts and a cap . no wonder i have loved blondes since(ps she was also very very shy and down to earth )
In the '80s when everyone was doing cocaine and then turned her life around and actually had a small comeback. Everyone had and has their troubles.... She was more successful and accomplished more than most people can even dream.
Paul: While the Sly album "There's a Riot Goin' On" was only released in 1971, the song, "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" was released as a single in December 1969. So 31 January 1970 probably is the correct date.
she was on Ed Sullivan in the late 50s, she had a very fine career--70s is when she faded out, it's a fate shared by many performers of that time, variety shows died out and they had no place to go
Actually Joey was doing nightclubs up until the late 70's. BTW. She was supposed to appear on Ed Sullivan in December of 1970 but had to pull out due to the incident involving her husband Lance Rentzel.
I think this was the next to last Hollywood Palace. Also there's an appearance of Lance Rentzel, who was married to Joey. 11 months later we would be reading and hearing about Lance exposing his lance.
@MinkEyeLashes This was the next to last Hollywood Palace I believe. There's a appearance of Joey's husband Lance Rentzel. 11 months later we would hear and read something about Lance exposing his lance..
I believe this is the episode and the date the show originally aired. Episode #7.16 (31 Jan. 1970) Season 7, Episode 16 www.imdb.com/title/tt0603138/?ref_=nm_flmg_slf_24
Last show was February 7, 1970. This was, indeed, the next-to-last show and was actually the last "real" show, since the finale was just a retrospective of old clips, hosted by Bing Crosby.
She was hot for sure. She had no business singing, which actually made it kinda cool, assertive. WHAT A DOPE HOUSE BAND! SAMPLE THAT SHIT FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS!!!
Sometimes someone just has it all
As alluring as Joey was, she needn't have worried about any of those dancers hitting on her!
That’s so true❗️❗️❗️
This episode of Hollywood Palace was first aired on January 31st 1970.

Had to look her up …. found her in novel “ Leather Maiden” …. Wow a real knock out from better times!

Joe Moo
It aired in January 1970 which I think was the next to last show of Palace.
Tight dancing. I'll bet she can still do that😉!

thanks for the update--she was really a terrific performer, folks like her aren't around anymore
Very different hair style than what she is used to having. I like this one better. It actually shows her pretty face.
Jan. 31st, 1970. Me Tooer's heads just exploded!
has to be around 1971, since she is singing that Sly and The Family Stone song
Joey looked good with long hair
I am glad she kissed Don Knotts. I read he hid his award so Andy would not feel bad Don won instead.

I wonder who could play her in movie about her.

All hands on deck ?
Dr.Z brought me here!
This girl was so smoking beautiful and oozed sex appeal.
And Soo much more talent then ann Margaret,
Today is Joey's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY LOVE PAUL (Jimmy WIlde)
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Iffy.
I've always liked Don Knotts, but this is Dreadful. Stale. Contrived. Embarrassing.
And still much better than what's on TV in 2014.
Fuck that - Joey's dancing is hot as shit.
you can see the facade slipping .
Does anyone know who choreographed this?
Rachel Guest
Probably her, but I'm just guessing. We could ask David Winters...
Joey is a trained dancer. I know she can do more than shake her ass and her arms. She is capable of better.
She was hot for sure. She had no business singing, which actually made it kinda cool, assertive. WHAT A DOPE HOUSE BAND! SAMPLE THAT SHIT FOR WEEKS AND MONTHS!!!
:))))))))))
WTF??
The guys are all gay right?
today's female singers think their sexy?? Not even close to Joy!
JOEY IS CUTE , BUT THE DANCERS ARE TOOOO OLD AND SAD
