If you want to fix the scale of Lego's new Daily Bugle and also give it 5 floors, then this is the Lego modification for you! This Lego Daily Bugle MOC uses the Lego Daily Bugle set (Lego 76178) and an additional 81 pieces. I tried to keep this a Lego Daily Bugle alternate build, but I needed a few simple parts to make it work. The good news is that you only need 2 different pieces: 1x1 bircks (x30) and 1x1 plates (x51) in light bluish gray. Instructions for this Lego Daily Bugle modification come in normal and high resolution, along with a parts file for the additional pieces needed. The instructions are PDF documents generated from Studio.
I hope you enjoy my Lego Daily Bugle MOC! I am quite pleased with how it turned out and it should look great in your Lego city!

Thanks for your patience!
5 Floors looks much accurate than 4! Great Job.
Thanks!
i don't know how, but you make the daily bugle look smaller than the original, i can´t see this as an improvement, even with the extra floor
The original looked pretty great, but wow I love this version! I don’t own the DB yet, but when I do, I think I’ll make it like this!
Thanks! Hope you get to build it!
Have you laid your hands on it yet?
@@wont_take_it time flies so fast! Nope I still haven’t got it yet 😂
This looks amazing! I love what you did with the DB sign at the top.
Thanks!
@@StonewallBricks it’s reminiscent of the daily bugle sign from the raimi spider man film
@@pikapika4312 Oh yeah, on the Flat Iron building? I can see that.
I'm still working on the instructions and I'm headed to Brick Rodeo for the weekend. Check back next week for the instructions!
Great video! Hope to see you at Brick Rodeo! I'm there Saturday from 10am to 12
@@grandmasterhobbies Thanks! And good seeing you at Brick Rodeo!
This modification is awesome!!
thanks!
Currently building your version this week. Taking a floor at a time. Alternate/mic builds are challenging to me especially since you need to go into all the bags not one at a time but I’m on the second floor and loving it. Can’t wait for it to be finished.
nice, hope you enjoyed it!
getting this set for christmas and im so excited, might do this mod !!!
Looks great. Haven't build mine yet, but I do agree this fits better in as a less "cartoony" building.
I would maybe have switched the two large "screens" over the entrance though, the large one to the left, as when seeing it on the corner it goes increasingly larger from small to large, and I'm not sure I like it.
Awesome moc! Makes it look much less cartoonish and more like a realistic skyscrapper.
Thanks! I agree
Will this modified version with 5 floors still work with light kits for the Daily Bugle? My wife bought me a light kit for the Daily Bugle set, but I modified it using your instructions to have 5 floors cause I loved the mod! I'd love to be able to use my new light kit with this mod if possible.
Give this man a medal I’m considering doing this to mine
lol, thanks! I just posted the instructions (if you're interested).
Working on this now from your instructions from a new set. Very challenging. I wish in the instructions you made note of where you moved pieces. Other than that coming along!
If you're starting with a new unopened set, the instructions should follow the original bag numbers for the most part, with the occasional looking ahead for later pieces (like with the bugle build) and of course the extra 1x1 bricks and plates needed. I hope you're able to get it built! Let me know if you need any help!
Just finished it up. It’s pretty epic! Glad I went with your design. The five floors are so awesome. I have a few changes I plan on making. I want to clean up the second floor some. Just not into the crumbled floor. Other than that this looks awesome. Thanks again!
In my opinion, this is much better than the original set.Great job!
thanks!
Looks good. Well done!
Thanks!
Curious to see how it looks after your modifications next to the same modulars you showed at 00:40
yeah, I didn't realize I missed that shot until after I already uploaded the video. I'll show it next to some modulars in my next city update!
Nice job, looks great! I’m also working on a Daily Bugle MOC right now. I’m combining 2 sets, along with introducing another color into the building.
Thanks! And 2 sets?? I'll be sure to check it out!
Did you end up posting the moc anywhere?
I got Daily Bugle and the Dr Strange house for my son. They are beautiful builds, but hard to play with, which is what my son wants to do. I'm trying to figure out a way of rebuilding them with more playable space and more open, either try to hinge a corner and open it that way...IDK, but I like what you did with the top floors.
Thanks! Yeah, these sets (and the modular buildings) are more geared towards looking good than play. The best design for play is probably the doll-house style or the ones that hinge open like on the Ghostbuster's HQ.
@@StonewallBricks I got the Sesame Street one and I like how both sides are very playable. I haven't seen the Ghostbuster's one, but I'll search it. I'm almost finished the 2nd floor of the DB and my son has the characters going up the red ladder, but they can't go in that way, so that's something else I'm going to add is entrances from the ladder. I'm going to build the whole thing, then I'm going to figure out how to open both DB and SS. Merry Christmas
@@theCAZX ha, I hadn't thought about the fire escape not being connected. Shows the importance of kids play-testing it! The Ghostbuster set is an older retired one, but the side hinges open which gives easy access to play with the inside.
Hey don’t know if your gonna respond but are there supposed to be quite of extra pieces ?
i was always annoyed that my daily bugle's 2nd floor lined up with the sanctums 3rd floor, so this is great. does this still allow you to display the green goblin breaking through the window tho?
The additional pieces where do you use them for the build?
Really great job... But seriously what fid you do to the sign its so igly and out of place
I thought it looked bad hanging over the sides of the original building, so I changed it. You can easily keep it in the original orientation if desired, tho.
Does your build include the exploding window? Im very interested in doing it your way
My instructions do not include the exploding option. However, I don't think I used any of those pieces, so I'm pretty sure that it could be incorporated into my MOC. You would need to use the official instructions for the window pieces on that part (and possibly a little improvisation as my floors are 1 window shorter). If you try it, I'm sure everyone would like to hear how it went!
this makes the bugle have a dump truck
Love the Daily Bugle... just implemented it into my lego city, but got a lot of comments regarding an extra floor.
Now, that I see your version I really like it and probably will rebuild it. But as the height of your moc should be the same as the original, what do you think, would a extra floor fit into the whole proportion of the build?
An extra floor to the original set or my version? I think it could help with the original as it'd make the skinnier floors taller than the bottom fat floors (3-2). If you mean my MOC, it'd be hard to do since those exterior rails span more than a single floor.
@@StonewallBricks That's what I also thought about the railway pieces. But maybe I will add just another floor to the original set, that would a little better
How tall is the new build ignoring the antenna? I would love to own and build this set, but the standard one is too tall and big for my home.
~22" It should be about the same as the original, minus the antennas on both.
@@StonewallBricks thank you so much
Hey I am making a daily bugle update video series and was wondering if I could possibly use some things you have said in this video
Like using some of my ideas? Yeah, that's fine!
@@StonewallBricks thanks
Why on rebrickable! I can even pay!
Hello. I'm about to purchase these instructions, and I'm wondering if this build is taller than the original set?
Overall height is the same.
@Stonewall Bricks thank you! We started tearing down the original set. I'll post a review of your build on my LEGO channel, Brick Mind, in a week or so!
Nice! Happy building!
Just downloaded the instructions. Does this mod make it any higher?
It's the same height. But I think it feels taller because it turns 4 tall floors into 5 normal height floors. Hope you enjoy it!
Much needed improvement for this mess of a building
glad you liked it!
I am like u but instead of going 4 to 5 floors im going wider with 3 floors. So i add a 16 by 32 baseplate to make it slightly fatter n now im going thru problems... so im super stuck. May Allah save me.
lol, are the rails giving you problems? They gave me headaches. I had to make sure each floor was the exact number of plates high and the modified bricks were aligned properly (thus the extra pieces).
Wow you RUINED it 😂
whoops 🤷♂️
As a DC fan I will instead be turning it into Wayne tower
good idea
@@StonewallBricks I’d love to see you take a jab at it
Stop acting like it’s possible to fix the set it’s not broken and it’s the most perfect set of all so stop acting like it’s not perfect
Someone should use punctuation.
I am sorry but I hate this design no offense to you
no worries! To each their own
It’s a cool set, but I can’t stand Marvel….DC all the way! The only interest I’d have in it is converting it into the Daily Planet!
that's fair! I bet it would need more pieces for the globe up top.
DC 100%
How can you not love marvel, they've got so many cool asf characters
