Wow! Kenny Clarke sounds so fluid. He sounds like he's playing two cymbals - a ride and a crash. Not so - just a ride that he is able to crash on so distinctly. His snare is big but nice and tight and he's dancing like Fred Astaire on that thing. So nice.
Good music and very interesting playing by Martial Solal already. From this moment on he grew musically and today is a untouchable musician!
Very nice version of this jazz standard by 2 less well-known but very capable tenor players. Interesting to see the small drum kit used by Kenny Clarke in this video. He did a great job with not many pieces in his kit. Thanks for posting this.
That lick Bobby played at 1:35 took me back to a childhood memory for some unexplainable reason, and then Lucky played the same lick right afterward at 2:00 ... I must be going crazy haha
