What I needed to know and the video isn't saying: It is NORMAL, that during the cold descaling phase, the machine will run empty. Don't interrupt it or refill at this point! It will notice and go into the waiting phase automatically.

Thanks for commenting this, I noticed that the water level was going down during the cold water descaling and wondered what to do once it was empty

@@crguy2522 I'm talking about the beaker, the plastic cup used to catch the water, placed on the tray, as in the video at 01:45 for example. I've not been able to find anything that is both tall and narrow like that.

You can use whatever cup, glass or beaker, as long as it is big enough for a specific amount of water.
