I like heavy weapons Argenta. You get heavy bolter early on in act 2 after Janus if you save rep for Drusssians. Then take all the rapid fire perks to lay waste with 16 round burst fire
I really think you should look into Arch-Militant for Argenta. The class works really well with only a bolter and a sniper and synergizes even more than Bounty Hunter with Officers.
They need to add some abilities for Initiative. Like give every psyker a feat for exchanging dex to will when it comes to initiative rolls. Officers are TOO necessary right now.
If you wanna go completly nuts go with Idira as bounty hunter. Give Idra the passive - Savour the Kill - where they get an extra turn when a unit with bounty dies. I could do the game with 3 chars at this points and the chain lightning of Idira does not count as attack. Officer/strategist+ 2 bounty hunter. After every kill from Argenta my Idira buffs her further and does some dmg to enemies (and puts bountys on enemies). Can not remember last time cassia got her turn :) Later the psyker can even use a skill similar to "Bring it down" PS: there is an item that reduce reload by 1 (down to 0 paired with the talent)
I find it interesting how video games expose how much you can break the original TTRPG rules but it’s always stuff that doesn’t happen in the TTRPG as it’s too much math 😅
I think also because with the ttrpg when playing it's a more communal thing. Working together to overcome challenges is part of the fun, and so as soon as you start doing stuff to intentionally trivialise a part of the game you lose out on that.
@@tomlaptain646 I think at a normal gaming table you have a few different type of players while CRPGs attract more the min/maxer and the game itself facilitates this play style by the nature of mediums. Not complaining. Just amuses me.
My boss killing technique has been 'Surround with melee guys, have Grand Strategist place frontline zone and activate Killing Zone, then have Cassia debuff then move boss around to get hit several times by hits of opportunity.
A TP/Pyro Psyker with Pain Channeling and Backdraft will do this much quicker and easier than Argenta. One Chain Lightning can take out more than 6 enemies anywhere on the map because PC has no range limit.
Hi Bro, can you give us a party build guide for what you did this Video, as while I know Pathfinder well now, thx to you, I’m so lost on Rogue T , ie this game etc. thx ☺️ in advance!
1) are there other characters than Argenta who could pull off something like this? 2)Which boots do you use? There is a set called "Sororitas boots" you can find on footfall, iirc, which instantly raises momentum to 175 if the wearer killed 5 enemies in a single turn.
Pretty much any ranged character can dps like crazy if you buff them and give them extra turns, I've used Idira and she can explode the entire map turn 1 as well.
Theoretically you could also do it with Cassia. Lidless Stare scales with Willpower, she has multiple talents that give her absurd amounts of Willpower during battles and if you wanna go for extra lulz she also gets a talent that makes all her resistance checks use Willpower and also scales her HP according to Willpower :)
Jae's an officer. Literally anything that makes officers good makes Jae good. Toss out extra turns, buff allies, if nothing to do take a pot shot at an enemy.
I use a psyker(pyro/bio) warrior assassin main, gets buffed up and runs all over the place with mp after kill and action points spent. If he runs out of juice, there are 3 officers in my party but usually after one round (officer+warrior ulti) everything is just a red puddle on the ground. Righteous Justice + eyes of joyeuse are pretty nuts.
This is pretty much the way. You can swapout thee extra officer for another story companion so it feels a bit more even but its not. It usually means more of my team has to act or we just endbthe fights in turn 2 lmao. I usually run bounty hunter idira in theirnplace and its probably just as broken if not worse sometimes because if its an open space and cassi groups enemies the damage chaining is insane.

How about a melee tank build? It seems that melee is pretty trash in rogue trader now, compared to ranged characters. It's much easier to just shoot/spellcast everything while also avoid being melted in the open at the same time. And ranged characters seem to be able to trigger much more attacks even by themselves then fighters, because there is no need to move a lot. Do you have any recommendations on melee, by any chance?

@@davosan6782 But as the video points out, you can easily wipe out an entire battlefield *before* your actual turn with a sniper character. The oc's point wasn't that melee characters are bad full stop, just bad compared to what you can do with ranged characters.
Melee really drops off the further you get into the game. Enemies with have thousands of HP we are talking 4000-10k how for mini bosses to bosses. Bursters and area master tacticians can hit hard. Obviously snipers even more so if they are assassins since dmg scales with enemy HP. The maps where combat happens are generally large so it's a lot easier for sniper or burster or plasma guy to hit everyone. I do think you need a arch militant tank instead of a vanguard cause most of the boss fights start becoming gimmicks. So on occasion you have to dangle someone so you can run around the map doing whatever the gimmick is instead of killing stuff. Arch militant in heavy armor will easily hit the 95% defense cap after debuffs if you get deflection high enough. Hint you can have 3 heavy armor monsters if you focus one on each of coercion, carouse and tech. It's harder to get dodge up as vanguard and you want armor dodge parry at max. I'm sure you could probably get melee assassin to hit just as hard as the sniper but you still gotta run around hitting everything and lots of times you won't be able.
