Sorry about the sloppy playing, I learnt the solo in a day lol.
Signal Chain - guitar - studio pre - Yamaha SPX90 - Stereo out into focusrite 2i2 - Reaper - Vintage30 impulse.
Great song, great amp ,great preamp great player and nicely mixed… What’s there not to like… Lol… Keep on rocking
I lucked into a studio pre 14 years ago back in high school for dirt cheap. Still one of the best tone machines I've ever plugged into.
Great sounds
Awesome brother! LOVE it!!!
Grab that 295 back my dude !
Hey dude. How does the preamp sound for old school thrash metal type stuff (Metallica, anthrax, overkill, Exodus etc.)?
It was born to do that man. It's basically the Mesa Mark II C+. Use a tube screamer to tighten the sound up too.
@Kenny H Not really it was tubescreamer on lightning. MK2C+ on Puppets. MK2C+ on Justice though there is Quad preamp in pictures of the sessions and notes saying shortes straw is a Quad.
it sounds great for thrash. Not quite up there with an actual IIC+ (but maybe that depends on the poweramp as I have a 50/50), but close - and using a tubescreamer with it reminded me of my old Mark III. Btw, the Quad is the same preamp added with an additional one that is more like a Mark III and they used it on the Justice tour (to me, still one of their best tones ever)
