I had to choreograph something for Lion King today and I wasn't quite in the "African" world like I wanted to be, I was stuck somewhere between hip-hop and theatre. The "rhythm" I needed felt missing and "untrue" to what I wanted to get to. I clicked on this and I LOVED everything about it.
It reminded me of steps and style I'd forgotten were true to form, but more than that, it reminded me of the special groove to tap into.
You goddit goin' on doll...and you and your dancers are gorgeous!!!
I have a lot to learn about Caribbean music. My dad's mom (Nana) played a LOT of reggae & international music for us growing up so my ears are open though I'm not particularly educated musically or aware really. Because my mom's musical tastes shaped me the most, I play a lot of soul/funk, & she always thought my classic & international tastes were weird. Now, I think she was just uncomfortable.

Hello! This is an amazing dance! I teach the dance ministry at my church! Is it ok to teach them this dance? My pastor would like us to perform an African style dance for black history month and I'd love to teach the girls!

I'm a newbie Zumba Instructor and looking for different moves and choreo and watching different style music videos for ideas and inspiration but wouldn't have a clue where to start with the choreo.I can dance for hours and love freaking out clubbing still when I can,even being 45 this year,but have you got any tips on how to start choreo for a song? I'd really appreciate your advice as your moves rock!

I love the invoking of God 's amazing earth created in African rythms. It's very beautiful, being African I've heard so much varieties of music and rythms and sounds from other cultures, African, and Eastern cultures have so much feel of Earth.m, and nature.
This was a really nice piece. I am very picky with shorts, some dancers wear very tight shorts and I get turned off immediately because they look too desperate but I still I try to understand what the choreograph is saying. Your performance was perfect, outfits was perfect for what you choreographed, very nice and not desperate at all. This is very strong, chin up and inspiring piece you put together. It looks like you all had a lot of fun too. Tight, very nice.
